First, can we get off the actor's back please. If the actors aren't acting up to their level then the person to criticize would be the director because the actors that Lucas is working with all have oscar nods or golden globe nods or some other award nomination to their name.

As for the BO, I'm hoping for big grosses of course and I'll be sure to see ummm, probably 3 or 4 times during it's opening weekend.

Thurs - 33.1
Fri - 27.1
Sat - 39.1
Sun - 29.1

95.3 - 3 day
128.4 - 4 day

You realize Sith's second weekend is Memorial Day, right? Attack of the Clones posted $52 million in its second frame.

It's also going up against two potentially big movies, which AOTC didn't. Adam Sandler's comedy remake of The Longest Yard with Chris Rock and Burt Reynolds, as well as Dreamworks' new animated feature, Madagascar , featuring the voices of Chris Rock, Ben Stilller, David Schwimmer, and Jada Pinket-Smith.

The second weekend is going to totally depend on the reception, especially from children.

Should EP III not be for kids, it's going to lose repeat viewings, and WOM will be telling other parents to keep their kids away. I wonder if Spielberg knows something that we don't know, and that's why he positioned the Dreamworks picture to be released on that weekend, so he could capiltalize on traumatized children needing some comfort.

There is also the fact that EP III is a downer. The good guys lose. That could affect some of the movie goers who want to laugh to get over it, and there's The Longest Yard, ready and waiting. Also, if EP III disappoints, people are going to flock to a comedy to cheer them back up, much like Bruce Almighty benefitted after Reloaded disappointed.

As much as I hate to say it, a 55% drop isn't out of the question, even if the movie is everything it should be.

This is Star Wars. Not some R rated sequel to a moderately popular movie that gained more popularity on DVD.

Way low!

I'm lowering my prediction after the new trailer...

3-Day Opening: $81.0
4-Day Opening: $107.0

Total: $227.5

You can't comprehend how much audience it will lose for its way increased violence.

I dont think so. Ok some kids are maybe out but the older audience always wanted a dark EP1 and when now they will get it with EP3 I see no way to to this under 250 Mio.

Which will be offset by the audience it will gain for the sheer amount of ass this movie will kick.

In any case, I think you must have made a mistake there because a $26m opening day would just be bizarre. As for your total, I think it will have hit that number by the start of its third weekend.

The RING was PG-13 if that's what your referring to.. :-k Hell, studios are too afraid to make R-Rated Horror anymore, except for MGM apparently..
