I voted for JFK... but only because I didn't notice Lennon.

But it's close between those two.

JFK is an interesting choice, but what about Lee Harvey Oswald? In the most terrible sense of course. I mean a lot of the conspiracies are so rabid because we know so little of him. He went from a nobody to the most famous person in the world, and murdered within 48 hours. Historically speaking, that's about as crazy as it gets. Had he had a chance to tell his story, his death would not nearly be as iconic.

Jim Morrison is cool too, because he was amazing, and his death is rather mysterious as well, though his musical talent was on a major decline by the time he died.

My final vote would be for The Aviator himself, Howard Hughes.

I'd put Elvis and Steve McQueen in the same category as Michael Jackson.

Lee Harvey Oswald as an icon? LMFAO

That's the most absurd thing you've ever said. Next you'll be saying Hitler is an icon.

Yeah, because all dead people are death icons . . .

As I said, it's the worst sense of the word icon, because he's obviously not an icon, but he fits in perfectly with your definition. Casual People still talk about LHO on a regular basis. I don't think anyone else can say that the nation and most of the world had a single thought on their mind, "Who is Lee Harvey Oswald, and why did he killed our beloved leader" and then he himself is murdered, while in custody.

You're reaching with Hitler though. Not even close :shades:
