You should also eventually check out Something's Gotta Give if you haven't seen it. I am pretty sure that Libs will confirm that.

That was the only one that I never heard of. I've actually been considering stepping up my theater going like I used to. A lot of the problem with waiting for the DVD, is that I don't really race to rent movies as much as I used to now either. Going to the theater more often , means I will probably end up seeing a chick flick or 4 this year , so I'll be sure to cheer the good ones on at the forum.

Yes, I will.

And I'll be recommending Fantastic Four to both of you, just so you know.

Well, Mav, as a fellow Marvel fan you know you don't have to recommend it to me...but you know that ShoWest footage...it wasn't very convincing to be honest :???:

Simone's (ingenius) plot:
The career of a disillusioned producer (Al Pacino), who is desperate for a hit, is endangered when his star walks off the film set. Forced to think fast, the producer decides to digitally create an actress "Simone" to sub for the star--the first totally believable synthetic actress. The "actress" becomes an overnight sensation, with a major singing career as well, and everyone thinks she's a real person. However, as Simone's fame skyrockets, he cannot bear to admit his fraud to himself or the world.

That sounds interesting, and it's a real shame that so many good films don't find an audience , and so much garbage does.

I changed my signature, by the way. I'll take the movies off as I see them.

I'll be paying a visit to the video store today, so I'll be getting 4 or 5 of them. :-$ Legally Blonde is the only one I know at this point.

Those 5 it shall be. Any specific order you would like for me to watch them in?

Watch Say Anything last, because I have a feeling you'll like that one the most. Doesn't really matter about the other four, I wouldn't think.

Hmmm, I really try to imagine how a guy could possibly in any way like Bridget Jones's Diary.

I mean hey, I have nothing against chick flicks. Love Actually was one of the best movies 2003. I also enjoyed Something's Gotta Give a whole lot as well as Legally Blonde. I loved As Good as it Gets and The Notebook and I really like Pretty Woman as well as While you were Sleeping. Clueless is a good film as well.

But Bridget Jones's Diary is the definition of a chick flick. All other films either offer something for the guy as well or stay neutral so both can enjoy it. Bridget Jones's Diary is the essence of a chick flick and while I completely understand why women would like it, it is beyond my imagination how a guy can really enjoy this movie.

Oh, Maverikk, when you're done with that bunch:

The Notebook, Bring It On, While You Were Sleeping.

I assume you've seen As Good As It Gets (my favorite!).

boo...I hate to admit this, as it probably will make me look like a real sissy in your eyes, but Bridget Jones's Diary is one I've always wanted to see, and was probably going to watch second.

While you're at it, rent some good brainless action movies as well to keep yourself sane throughout the chick-flick procedure.

You know, I give you another suggestion. You'll this film probably (hopefully) even more. Rent About a Boy eventually. It is, um, something like Bridget Jones's Diary for guys.

Miss Congeniality is a decent flick and all, but it just loses some of its comedy after repeat viewings. It is still a pretty fun movie with Sandra Bullock at her very comedic best, but it is not a classic of the genre by any means. The ending and the winner of the pageant was pretty predictable, but what else would you expect? There wasn't any chemistry between Benjamin Bratt and Sandra Bullöock sadly.

That aside, it is still a somewhat amusing movie, with great appearances by Michael Caine and William Shatner. Kudos to them.

Fun and generally entertaining fluff. Bullock and Caine gave great performances but the film lags a bit during the middle. The later portion with the Miss United States sequences are all quite well done. Overall, fun but not overaly impressive entry in to the genre. B
