Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous
Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous Quote: Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous is a 2005 comedy film directed by John Pasquin, starring Sandra Bullock and Regina King. It is a sequel to the 2000 film Miss Congeniality.
Bullock, who also produced the film, commented during the film's promotion on the type of story she wanted to tell:
I want women to be able to do the same thing that men get to do in comedies and say, 'That's a comedy.' Why does it always have to be a romantic comedy? Why does the girl have to end up with the guy? Why can't it be a buddy film?

It was cute. As far as "girl power" sequels go, this was light years of Legally Blonde 2. B-

Libs gave Legally Blonde 2 a D+, so I'm guessing she meant that Miss Congeniality 2 is lightyears better than Legally Blonde 2.

Z, as you changed her words above to fit your answer.
Don't you understand the meaning of my answer which didn't change her answer
Ahead of? Right now I can't think of any better answers that uses her of term.
LOL, Z - just trying to post a different answer than Goldie.

I had a blast watching it. The thing that made it different from the first one was that it was a buddy comedy (a la Starsky & Hutch, only two women instead), and the chemistry between Sandra Bullock and Regina King was really good. It isn't as funny as the first, but it was still the best comedy I've seen this year (better than Hitch or Be Cool IMO). And the whole Tina Turner bit was hilarious. Overall, it didn't exactly match the first Miss Congeniality (which is one my favorite movies), but it comes close, and that's good enough for an...

Um.
Why are you making such a big deal over this, Goldie? It's a grammatical mistake and like you, Zingaling tried to solve it.
If you ALWAYS know, where's the perfect grammar you preach?

Goldie, Goldie, Goldie...
The big difference between your post and mine was that you guessed it, and I proved it with a fact.

I loved it! I give it a B+, which is what I give the first one. I really, really enjoyed it, Sandra and Regina were funny. Way, way better than Legally Blonde 2.

Back from my California spring break.
And I got to see the movie premier Thursday at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Ofcourse, I wasn't anywhere near her, but she was in there. Lovely ceremony where she got her star on the walk of fame. Shatner and George Lopez were there. It was really cool seeing them. I took pictures of them, and I'll try to post em up. Hopefully they came out. Anyway, it was really cool seeing a premier and seeing the stars out there. She is really beautiful. I mean really. Whew.
Anyway, to the movie.
It wasn't as good as the first, but I still loved it. I'm a sucker for Sandra. I think it deserves a B or a B+ overall. Oh, and Sandra was very nice to all of her fans. I commend her for not being a stuck up hollywood bitch.

I agree with Korrgan and Libs. Legally Blonde 2 was a crushing sequel. MC2 lacked the nuance and orginality of the first, but was still passable. I'd give it a C+/B-. Need to write the review tonight so am not sure yet which it gets. There were definately some fun one-liners and moments, and thankfully just ended up being the James-Bond-esque adventures of the FBI Ms. People expect it to be a movie in of itself rather than an episode from the case files so to speak. It did its job as a single, though unambitious case, and I wasn't bored at all. Plus the acting was actually good. Bullock is pretty fun.
There was that line where they both hold the guns to his head and Fuller is like "Be a man," and Hart (with good timing and delivery) says "Yeah...like Fuller?" That got a good giggle out of me.
I have to admit though I tend to go soft on comedies that don't resort to bathroom humor, so these movies still go higher up on my list than, say, There's Something about Mary.

It was a cute movie, nothing special. I liked the first one a little better though. Some of the jokes fall flat, but the ones that don't, they are quite funny. Sandra Bullock is sassy, and very beautiful in her role. I like her a lot here. I also thought Regina Hall was hysterical, and I liked her angry attitude. The drag show scene was so hilarious, and I also thought the scene at the retirement home was funny too. I liked it, but its just an average movie.

I wish some people would comment on another scene besides the two mentioned: the scene at the airport when the "escape." I seriously thought it was one of the funniest scenes in the movie, it wasn't the funniest but it definetely was memorable. "we have an agent down, we need tampons!" Maybe I'm the only one who thought it was funny ... #-o
