Re: Mouse traps I was once working in a house and came across a mouse trapped in a mouse trap only by his tail. He had this sad look on his face like his was pleading for help. So I took him outside and freed him. He was so cute.  _________________

Re: Mouse traps I generally don't believe in killing, but mice (and carpenter ants) are allowed to live anywhere but where I do. With the spread of hantavirus, the health risks of house mice are too high. As to the methods - - the classic cheap snappers are the way to go in my experience - - they're the most effective and unless the mouse is very unlucky, it doesn't suffer. (Peanut butter works much better than the cliche cheese bait.)  However, if you want to go the full Born Free route, the excellent Havahart traps allow you to release them alive (far) away from your house.  BTW, I just saw a disturbingly strange new design for a mousetrap this past week - - the Nooski - - which slips a little rubber noose around the mouse's neck (humanely according to the company).
