MU should have done better in OS markets. DM2 is doing good and should have a healthy increase from the original.

Ill be talking in Mexican pesos, so you can do the conversion to US dollars.

Every movie theater has different ticket prices, even if its the same chain. It all depends of the zone of the city.

Matinees: 25-35 Mx pesos
3pm to 6pm: 35-45 Mx pesos
after 6pm: 55-65 Mx pesos (less if your a child or over 65 years old)
3D Tickets: 65-85 Mx pesos
VIP tickets: 129-155 Mx pesos
4Dx tickets: 159 Mx pesos

Its somewhat cheaper to go to the movies over here and the installations are way better than those in the United States, IMO.

Also, Wednesdays on all movie theaters, Thursdays on VIPs theaters and Tuesdays if you have the movie theater card are 2 for the price of 1.

Are those admissions numbers official and could you, please, tell the source?

Thanks a lot. Those ticket prices are outrageously low. In 2010 average ticket price was $3.77 and i thought it went up in last two years. But these are major releases with 3D.

And somehow i noticed that average ticket price is less for Pacific Rim than for Despicable Me 2. Hard to explain this.

It must have something to do with this:
http://www.theatlantic.com/china/archiv ... ge/274329/

It's not wise to import it if you already have too much.

Maybe it's because of the mall owner who does the wigs?

That and they probably didn't pay off the right people.

At first I thought it was denied because of the scene in which Gru gets dressed like a girl

Has there ever been a case that an american animated film has been released there like a year after???

To me, The Croods' overseas performance is much more impressive than that of Monsters University. DreamWorks has a very healthy franchise on their hands now.

AGREE

Though pixar films never perform as they should OS, audiences prefer dreamworks/blue sky flicks

I think Pixar films to fairly well in OS markets. Though only TS3 exploded. Some of the DW and Blue Sky movies do well but that has to do more with distribution IMO.
