Sure but that's expected.

I saved money by doing that hotel thing where you book early and pay all upfront. Which is annoying now but it'll ultimately save me like $140. And my cheap ass got an economy rental car.

The only thing is that I really wanted to fly Virgin America because everyone always talks about how fun it is, but I got a slightly better price flying Delta nonstop out of Reagan which is much more centrally located to where I live. Oh well.

How long are you going? What part of California?

I am currently saving for a trip to Ireland next fall which I already know is going to be HELLA expensive.

I'm taking a solo vacay to L.A. in mid-September. Thursday-Monday so a long weekend basically.

Where would you go in Ireland? I studied abroad in Dublin for a semester. The whole country is just gorgeous and so much fun.

Honestly I have NO idea lol. I was listening to some Irish music one evening while slightly inebriated and up and decided we would go. This was about a year ago. Any suggestions? I wouldn't mind staying in un resort like hotels, to be able to spend money on awesome eateries etc. On the same not how much "spend money" would be sufficient for about a 10 day stay?

If you were going alone I would say you could just stay in a hostel and save a crapload of money. But if you'll be with your family that's not a good option.

I must vouch for Dublin, I really did love it there. It's a cute city with good transportation and, like, it's Ireland. They know how to drink. Obviously not something you can do with your kids (lol) but if you can get away...

The entire country is really just beautiful and green. I'm not even sure I can recommend anything specific because everywhere is pretty.

I might try for a bed & breakfast to stay in? They can often be fairly affordable and you can't beat the hospitality.

I'm trying to decide if I want to go back to Romania early next year. But I'm waiting on my girlfriend's school schedule to see if she would be able to go with me.

Delta from DCA is likely an Alaska Airlines codeshare and is usually the route I take. They're not bad. Virgin America is nicer. Alaska's terminal at LAX is nicer than Virgin's though.

I owe you my restaurant list. One of these days...

Poor person problems consist of one thing; I need more money.

Wealthy person problems are so much more.

Not bored at work, never went on this site with my work computer, but I am annoyed with people sending me encrypted e-mail saying something like "ok" in response to my unencrypted e-mail saying "can you send me a link to [insert website]" or some innocuous thing along those lines. It won't display in my iPhone and it requires double clicking on the e-mail to display it in Outlook.

Also, an old guy at work always sends me responses that say "here Hugo" when I ask him for something. Then he walks from downstairs to take a shit on the toilet by my cube and they are of the audible variety you would expect from a fat person that just finished eating Indian food.

Your stall thing is BS and we have similar problems. However, the old man is simply cross-growlernating and that is unacceptable. Plus my cube is surrounded by females that can hear his destruction.

I'm going to Texas for the first time next week. Last "major" state I've not been to before.

Austin is cool. San Antonio is underrated. Never been to Dallas. Avoid Houston like the plague.

Define "major"

Im 44 states I've traveled so far. Just curious as to what you consider as the major states.

New York
California
Texas
Illinois
Florida
Pennsylvania
Ohio
Virginia

I guess. Obviously Hawaii/Alaska are iconic but keeping it mainland.

Ohio too, I'd put Washington, Nevada, Colorado, Louisiana, Maryland (For DC only, even though it's not technically MD) and New Jersey as major states as well for the US.

I considered New Jersey, but it felt right to exclude it. I'd put Georgia before Louisiana.

Jet Blue is also good, but not sure if they fly from where you are?

They do, it was more expensive than Delta though.

WHY DOES EVERYONE HATE VIRGINIA SO MUCH, BY THE WAY. You all freaking suck.
