Man of Steel and This is the End can still vary widely in totals, but I've updated the results projecting $325 million and $65 million, respectively. Not one person is dominating though yet - everyone's still fairly close to each other.


Man of Steel's opening weekend should lock up Box Office Question #6 though.


The Heat has to DESTROY to save the summer comedies. Fast & Furious 6 and Star Trek Into Darkness are combining for $465 million. Currently optimistically projecting $65 million for This is the End, $55 million for The Internship, and $120 million for The Hangover Part III - equaling $240 million. The Heat has to gross over $225 million for this to be a fight...

I hope so, as I would have them right as well. But let's see how The Heat holds. I had a few people come in to my store yesterday saying they'd just seen it, and were absolutely raving. If that kind of WOM is the norm, I would not be shocked at awesome legs throughout the rest of the summer, and 225M+ would not be impossible.

Gopher strengthens his lead. He will also get 2 more points as well soon. He had 18 movies crossing $100 million. We're at 16 right now, but The Butler and This is the End will be crossing it soon. Nothing else seems likely, unless Planes can hang on or Instructions Not Included pulls a My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
