It had a $5.86m opening day in China. That's not bad for a Thursday and will probably make around $70m total. It's not Iron Man 3 levels, though, which is now well over $100m.

MAN OF STEEL should be called MAN OF PUDDING in Germany... Everyday the weekend estimate has to be revised down. Now it looks like a very bland 275,000 admissions including previews...

Well, between $60m and $70m. It's distinctly average for a Summer blockbuster that cost $250m to produce and is marketed absolutely everywhere with many product tie-ins, bus billboards, TV advertisements and it being a superhero/sci-fi movie.

Man of Steel also has many product tie-ins.

If you're referring to the co-production status that Iron Man 3 had, well, that doesn't actually help a release at all on opening, and Man of Steel just isn't wowing anyone. There's no excuses, Excel.

That is just plain wrong. SUPERMAN was the fourth biggest movie of the year in Germany and the third biggest movie of the year in Italy...

A country by country comparison, opening weekend wise, with THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Mos on left, TDKR on right.

Argentina $1,923,142 / 3,122,930
Chile $1,151,069 / 1,216,292
Colombia $1,961,637 / 1,373,906
Denmark $882,198 / 2,075,040
Ecuador $799,630 / 713,838
Egypt $105,353 / 91,783
Malaysia $3,192,171 / 2,211,268
Mexico $9,680,184 / 9,733,087
Peru $1,068,050 / 1,239,298
Philippines $5,770,726 / 2,365,149
Singapore $2,557,868 / 2,650,244
S. Korea $8,574,180 / 12,946,284
Thailand $1,644,514 / $1,743,843
Turkey $632,554 / 1,255,144
Emirates $2,004,707 / 1,132,264
UK $17,589,933/ 22,439,915
Uruguay $66,177 / 85,654
Venezuela $1,092,904 / 1,069,326

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES totaled 636 million overseas. Man of Steel looks like it should challenge the 450 - 500 million international total range.

It is obviously doing very well overseas. But the worldwide total won't be much higher than The Amazing Spider-Man's. I see $750-850 million.

Which is excellent. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN was huge, globally.

TASM didn't do as well comparatively from its predecessors, it actually decreased from SM3 after 5 years of inflation and 3D factor, so it wasn't great total. Also looks like after a strong start MoS didn't do as well in few big markets which is why it is going to equal TASM's WW total. Overall its still good/great but given the string start it could have done better.

Spider-man 3 was one of the biggest films of all time...

Is that it? Only 188m after 14 days?

Seems a little low.

Depends on how many markets it expanded this weekend it could be a good number. Though I do believe it was released in quite a few markets this weekend which makes this number look *not-great*.
