You go Supes! Phillippines is SUCH a big territory. Asia is so easy to make new records. I think Iron Man 3 even broke a few.

 Re: MAN OF STEEL overseas
Given this opening and the markets growth it could reach $500m OS if it opens big in most of its markets.

 Re: MAN OF STEEL overseas
Considering the overseas market has not had a super mega hit apart from Fast Six in the past month this could do well but I doubt its abilities in the big markets.

Supes must be huge in the Phillipines. A Phillipino I bumped into recently insisted that MoS be the next film I go see.

You always try to hide your negativity towards this DC film, dont hide it more, we ALL know your love for IM3 that you dont want anything to take that film down

 Re: MAN OF STEEL overseas
If it can get to $800m worldwide, it's done good. Anything below is bad, and i would consider it a disappointment.

 Re: MAN OF STEEL overseas
http://variety.com/2013/film/news/warne ... 200493334/So Variety says that Warner Bros. expects $1.3 billion worldwide I say that are misquoting the guy. No way in hell could anyone be THAT stupid to expect Man of Steel to gross $1.3 billion and outgross TDKR, Iron Man 3 and the last Harry Potter film. They should be overjoyed if this does $800 million worldwide.

 Re: MAN OF STEEL overseas
MoS massive success here should be taken with a grain of salt.
Superman and big comic book films in general have always been a phenomenon here. SR also broke opening records back in '06, so as Spider-Man 3, Avengers, etc. Though, another major reason for this performance is that Wednesday, June 12 was also a national holiday.
Records also get broken here almost every year recently due to inflation/3D/IMAX. The top 3 of all-time came from the past 3 years with IM3 being the current top grosser. So, no real surprise that this did extremely well.

Expecting $1.3b from this movie is some seriously retarded prediction/expectation.

I don't think 1 billion world wide is out of the question. The overseas total is going to be ENORMOUS.

MOS WW will be less then 800 million.
Solid result as ASM did 750 million.

 Re: MAN OF STEEL overseas
I too think ASM is the best comparison for this one. $750m WW for MoS would be great IMO.
