Undoubtedly.

He's still SO relevant. I hear his name ALL the time.

I don't hear Jesus Christ's name all the time, but he still has millions of followers.

Relevance doesn't mean having to be in every story on TMZ, you know. Like Thegun said, if they're still attempting to remake his works, then there's no higher accolade for showing that he's still relevant.

I read scripts, newspapers, plays, etc, and am writing a book myself, but I just never find the time to read, I'd much rather watch a new show, film, or play instead.

Comics and novels just seem like a giant waste of time for me.

So, you write a book, yet reading isn't your cup of tea.

This just went from sad to baffling.

I see the code.

Perhaps you do enjoy tea, but simply have not yet found the right blend.

Well I always said a great name for a book would be "The first book I ever read is the one I write"

And my book is a comedy book, it's hardly the same thing thing as a novel. I read a lot for work, and I work a lot. I prefer to not use my free time reading. I like being more active in my free time. Reading for fun is for people with nothing to do in my opinion. I don't see why it's so baffling.

We're getting too sidetracked, first on Carrie, then Stephen King, now my reading habits. Come on people let's stay on The Escape Plan, and whether it can actually do 60+

That's a bit harsh. I'm sure a few members on here have someone in their family with that condition.

I don't care what I write or type on here. I'm not trying to impress anybody. Everything I write professionally is spell checked, looked over in the AP Hand book, and checked again. I'm not really going to lose sleep for using the wrong form or misspell a word here and there when I'm in a hurry, on a mobile device, or had a few beers. I find pointing out grammar errors on here is just pointless. Such as there being no 's in Down Syndrome, or starting a sentence with And. The point of the forum is that it is informal.

The syndrome was discovered by British doctor John Down and can be referred to as either Down or Down's syndrome. Consider: http://www.downs-syndrome.org.uk/

And the fear of beginning a sentence with "and" is instilled in children in school, but it is not an ironclad rule. There is room for debate and interpretation. Consider: http://blog.oxforddictionaries.com/2012 ... njunction/

I know both are argumentative, but its generally accepted that you are talking about the actual guy and not the syndrome. It can also be referred to as Downs as well in some circumstances. And while it's not a rule, you certainly wouldn't use it in a business memo to your boss, resume, etc. It's looked down on in the professional world, despite being used in a lot of literature.

This thread should seriously be locked. It has nothing to do with The Escape Plan

I won't lock the thread, but that discussion above, it, well, ran its course.

If you wish to keep discussing the different variations of how to write Down Syndrome, feel free to create a thread about it.

However, I shall these.Believe it or not, but among all the flaming and the jokes and all that gets thrown around here, these boards are populated by (in general) fairly cultured people. So when you throw out something like "Reading for fun is for people with nothing to do in my opinion" or "Comics and novels just seem like a giant waste of time for me.", then I assure you, you WILL get a reaction to that.

Yeah, but I didn't even get a negativity for that. If you look earlier, despite my opinion I was defending King and his body of work. Me being told I have down syndrome, or that I make too many spelling mistakes, is just random, and have nothing to do with the thread. It certainly should't take up an entire page.

While simultaneously saying that it's drivel, even though you have never read it.

Shawshank is based off of King, and some of his stories have been adapted into some of my favorite films. I have nothing but respect for his work. I assume the movies are indicators of his works, and the bad films, aren't because the source material is weak.
