Congrats guys!!

You have it down perfect Magnus. Nothing beats knowing how to play the game and pretending to be busier than you actually are and controling expectations.

And Excel - had nandos 3 times this week. Love it.

It's fine. It's super suburban, though. If you're talking about nightlife, D.C. is obviously the best place to go.

The "surroundings" of D.C. are the wealthiest areas in the entire United States. What you've heard is decidedly overblown.

How? I first discovered Nandos by Manly beach in Sydney. Then there was one 1 block away from my hotel in Cans. By the time I got back to Sydney, I went there 3-4x a week the final 2 weeks there (was there for a little over a month). There was right by the Central subway stop. Couldnt resist.

I live in the D.C. area and have never been to Nandos. Does that make me a bad person?

eh, not really but you really should go at least once.

There's one by Pentagon City. Maybe I'll go next time I'm shopping there with a girlfriend.

They do franchising in the USA, IIRC. Could be wrong, but I would love to open one.

EDIT: Well shit.

That's a shame. A friend of mine was a director at Nandos and owned two stores. He offered me a chance to jump the queue (there are waiting lists for new stores) and own the one closest to his store (at the time he would get paid royalties for a store opening on his boundries). I declined. I went to that particular store last week and its doing well (though not really what i'd want to do).

Now forget about boundries. The CEO told me that his plan was to open Nandos stores EVERYWHERE!

It did come true - there are Nandos everywhere here in Melbourne. I think they went from 40 stores 5 years ago to well over 100 here. Seems like tehre are more of them than McDonalds. Sydney has far fewer (as Oporto is bigger there). Im in Sydney at the moment for business and its a struggle to find a nandos.

Im keen to try out Nandos in the US next time Im there.

I love it because its addictive and its healthier than most fast food (unless I get the Chips as well). BTW - I usually eat the Chicken and not the burgers. And has to be hot or extra hot.

Sydney is friggin huge, and I haven't been there is nearly 2 years, buuut there were Nandos by Manly, under the enormous Meriton Hotel Tower right in the heart of downtown, and there was one in a mall not too far from Sydney Uni IIRC.... Like I said, I went to nandos a lot in a short time span. :funny:

Oporto was good, I liked their nuggets though their sandwiches looks nasty.

You know the Nandos CEO? Please do me a favor & suggest 'aggressive expansion' through the US!

And since Algren asked so nicely...

I work for Bank of America now. In the mortgage section. It's been about 2 months.

Started today at new gig. It was aight. Hard to really gauge much on first day. Though I do know that I will be posting a lot less during the daytime on KJ as they monitor Internet surfing at this place a lot more than they did at my old gig. That's probably for the best.

Zing, what's going on with you?

Same. I can't really access much on the work computer, which is probably good but hard to get used to after my last job, where I was on facebook/gchat/wokj/etc. all day. And I can use my phone but eh.

This is my third week and I'm really enjoying the new job overall, though. It's a lot more interesting than my last job.

Still looking for apartments. I found someone to live with, a friend of a friend who's really chill, but he can't move until June 1 so I've been staying at friend's places lol. I tried finding a one-month sublet but it's been impossible. On craigslist, people are either really creepy/sketchy, won't do just one month sublet, or don't respond. So I still don't feel like I've "moved" here yet. I go home every weekend just so I'm not imposing on people all week. And I haven't had much of a chance to explore because I've been busy with work, apartment searching and other stuff. But once I'm settled in I think I'll enjoy it more here. Arlington (where I've been staying) is a cool area.

Oh, and I finally tried Nandos. SO good.

^ Have you been to Ray's The Steaks or Ray's Hell Burger yet? Both in Arlington. If not, look them up.

Also...welcome to Virginia! :)

Btw, what's the deal with Redskins tickets? I've heard they're literally impossible to get. The first Eagles game of the season is against Redskins, @Redskins, and it's MNF! I wanna go so bad.
