Don't Pakis pride themselves on being hard workers?
lolz.
It sounds like you pride yourself on pretending to be a hard worker.
now you're on my level.
My current life plan is fake working hard (check), get paid like a boss (check check), and let China takeover the world after I retire at age 55 (still TBD).
I think China taking over the world is inevitable.

Re: zingy and i got new jobs bitches! DC CANT HOLD US DOWN
btw, it felt GREAT putting in my notice. I hate my current job and I think everyone knew it. Most of my team does too, and everyone's kinda looking, but I didn't make it obvious. People kinda tell their friends and then word spreads, or they'll show up in full suits to work a few hours late and kinda give it away. But my managers were like shocked.

That's exciting, congratulations! I bet you'll love D.C. What neighborhood are you living in?

I haven't found a place yet, but I'm looking somewhere around Arlington. I'm working in Herndon but I wanna be somewhere in between D.C. and work and I don't mind commuting/traffic - I already deal with it here in Philly.
And yes, I must try Georgetown Cupcakes. And NANDOS.

Oh so you're actually moving to northern Virginia! That's my domain. Arlington is really expensive, btw. But so is everything in this area, as I'm sure you're aware.
I live in Alexandria in a really pretty area that I love but it has more of a suburban feel while a lot of Arlington resembles a little city with interesting restaurants and bars and such. So that's probably a good place to look...are you gonna get a roommate? I might advise that with the expense rates.
No matter where you settle, make sure to visit Old Town Alexandria as much as possible. I live right outside of it and it's awesome.
I can advise you more intricately on the ins and outs of the area but since you specifically asked about movie theaters, to add to what Magnus said: -Landmark E Street (downtown DC) and Landmark Bethesda Row (Bethesda, MD) are the go-to indie theaters, but I also really like AMC Shirlington (near Arlington) and Cinema Arts (Fairfax, VA)
-AMC Georgetown is probs the best traditional megaplex downtown. Regal Gallery Place is much more convenient but I also kind of hate it.
-AMC Courthouse in Arlington is small but has those awesome plush red leather seats that recline
-The rest of the theaters around NOVA are pretty standard big megaplexes and not especially interesting but do the job: Regal Potomac Yard, Regal Kingstowne, AMC Hoffman
-Tysons Corner is a huge and nice shopping mall (biggest mall in the Balt-Wash area) in McLean/Vienna, but it gets really congested and can be a nightmare to navigate. Also has a nice big AMC theater.

Thanks! And yeah, I've seen how much living costs so I'm looking for a roommate. I know some people who live in Arlington so they'll scouting for me, lol. If not, I'll live with a random person. It'll take a few weeks I'm sure - more time than I have since I start on April 15. I'm crashing on couches for the first week or so.
Not sure about D.C. movie night, rev. Only if it can match the awkwardness of ATL Movie Night, Part III.

Movie meet ups are so 2005. Just go bar hopping, it'll break the ice faster and it's more fun.

Best thing since sliced bread. Love it. Discovered them in Australia, flew all the way to DC 2 days after I realized there was in the USA. I have been ordering the sauce from their website, but it just isn't the same. The 2 story one near Dupont - I think it is - was the one i hit up. Very nice.
Congrats to you both on news jobs. Magnus has it down. Everyone should know by that the key to advancement is working only hard enough to be impressive, but never hard enough so that your employers wants you to stay in that position. You need to seem destined for bigger, better, easier, and lazier things (like telling people what work to do instead of actually doing the work).
Only thing I dislike about DC is lack of big city feel/tall buildings. But great subway system, great food, great culture. One of my closest friends went to GTown and has lived in apartment there for the past 3 years, one of my fave places to visit.

dude if you've been in DC you know its subway system sucks.
I have been to DC and I think its subway system was just fine.
Of course, I set the bar low for US public transportation. But the subway was really alright.
