Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past 100% over First Class Total C
Umm well for starters Transformers 4 is poised to do well Overseas and go crazy like Pirates 4. Even if it falls in Europe it will increase in Asia and other markets.
Domestically I think due to the lack of a major wide appealing blockbuster during that time, it should still end up around 300 million domestic

I see it failing to make 300 million maybe 275-280. I think it makes in the 900 range WW. I just see it dropping. Not sure what the #1 film will be next year. Domestically you have a lot of candidates between Mockingjay, The Hobbit, Spiderman 2, Transformers 4, and even DOFP. It should make for an exciting year.

With prime spot to itself I see the chances of this increasing. TF4 will surely be a competition but not too big enough that this cannot overcome.

I don't see TF4 falling to 600 million overseas...
Looking at the summer its the only massive huge movie overseas in Late june and July.
With no big overseas film like DH2 to face, it will do massive business like Pirates 4.

I don't see it making a billion WW, but that is for another thread. I do wonder the OS potential for DOFP. It should at least top Last Stand which did around 350os. It should do no less than 400 maybe it could top 500 if buzz builds.

Last Stand only did 230 OS, it is kind of odd that the series just has never exploded overseas. I think since FC did do slightly better, I think it might be able to be the series best, and maybe hit 300 million OS, for some reason this and Iron Man just can't seem to catch on overseas, though I think the new Iron Man has a chance for 400 million.

wow I thought it did better than that. Still, I could see it getting 400 OS. The concept should pull in more people OS.

First Class cast + Original cast + time travel + return to X2 quality + badass advertising = highest grossing x-men film even when adjusting, and the king of predicting superhero film breakouts (Excel) without Superman affiliation agrees.
Gonna add 3D + Singer to the list, this film is going to leap frog First Class with ease. 300m+ yo.

The audience isn't there.

2x FIRST CLASS' total is $292.6m. THE LAST STAND adjusts to $288m. The audience is there, but the film has to be good enough for every single one of them to show up.

Yeah, so I was right. The audience isn't there.
Now, if you're thinking Avatar's audience will show up, you're dead wrong. An X-Men movie will never get $300m or even close. The best X-Men movie only managed $214m.

Yes, I'm aware of that. You're assuming all the attendees of X-Men: The Last Stand will be clamouring to buy a 3D ticket, which of course they will not. The Wolverine showed us that. This is a tired series. People want other franchises, not this done-to-death X-Men series (which still seems to be focused on Wolverine despite proof that nobody wants to focus on him anymore).
$180m tops.
