 Re: Jennifer's Body
I don't think Diablo Cody is a terrible screenwriter but she just can't write comedy very well. Every second sentence coming out of a character's mouth seems to be trying to sound oh so hip and cool.
Juno wasn't all bad in its screenplay only the wannabe-hip and funny parts were. It succeeded quite well as drama at some points.

Do you remember that page from the script of Jennifer's Body with her notes on it (I think it was posted here)? The one where she wrote what song to use in one scene and then with red pencil she wrote something like "if the band gets famous then use _____"... It's really pathetic at how cool she wants to be.

JENNIFER'S BODY - 7/10 ( B )
I thought it was entertaining. The girl-on-girl makeout session was hot. And kudos for including a Silversun Pickups song. They are one of my favorite bands.

Watched it again and raised my rating to an 8/10 (B+). Such an entertaining movie!

Jennifer's Body
Well it was ok, but far too PG-13 for my liking. I wanted to see more gore, more lesbianism, more action, and just more. It was a good story, but not done terribly well. Amanda Seyfried is far too sexy to just have play the geek for the entire picture. That was a wasted opporunity. The music was good in the movie, and the best thing about the movie was The O.C's Adam Brody. I thought he was fantastic, and the song his band sung was very good too (anyone know if it's a real single? I'd like to hear it again).
The worst part about the movie was the effects (Jennifer's vamp teeth and the killings) and Megan Fox - very bad at acting and was just a horrible person to look at (a slutty looking piece of trash). Overall, they wimped out on substance in favour of style (and even then, the style lacked somewhat). There were a few good lines. Off the top of my head, "got a tampon" was a quirkily good line. Can't remember the others but a few did catch me off guard.
C+

 Re: Jennifer's Body
That song is a real single. I have the soundtrack . I really enjoyed the music. I actually thought Fox was good here. Probably because she seemed to be playing herself . It's not a great performance, it just fits the vapid airhead she's playing. I actually now find this movie pretty underrated. It's very re-watchable and clever and fun (and funny). At least it was something different than the same old horror films that usually hit theaters. It's too bad it couldn't do better, though it does seem to be developing a cult following of sorts. I even have two Jennifer's Body t-shirts. Who's jello?

 Re: Jennifer's Body
You know, the first time I saw it in theatres, I thought it was alright. Certainly not deserving of the bomb it became, bit nothing too great either. Diablo Cody's wannabe-cool writing irked me.
But it grew on me. I happened to see it in theatres for a second time....and then saw it with different groups of friends three more times on DVD. And by now, it really grew on me a lot. It certainly deserves a cult following and will probably gather one over the years. It's a hugely rewatchable flick.

Agree completely Lecter. And have actually heard several people say they enjoyed it much more on repeat viewings.

Yeah, I can see it growing on me on repeat viewings. But I can't see me ever wanting a repeat viewing. I liked it, it was fine entertainment for 90 mins, but I don't want to watch it again. It needed to be more explicit for my liking.

 Re: Jennifer's Body
Originally it was a solid B for me, now somewhere around B+/A-. It still has lots of flaws, but it is very enjoyable in a silly sort of way. And it is by far the best performance Megan Fox has ever given (or will ever give). She's totally playing herself and she knows it.

Some mighht really benefit from a second viewing, but in some cases, I am simply not inclined to give them another shot. It does pay off from time to time.

 Re: Jennifer's Body
F
I thought Jennifer's Body was lame, the acting was horrid and the writing was lazy.
Amanda Seyfried was the standout performer here, the rest of the cast just sucked. Megan Fox played the hot/seductive cheerleader easily, but being possessed came off as goofy and cheesy to me.
Cheesy also perfectly describes the dialogue, which really gets annoying. The story felt dull and incomplete. There were some plot holes - but I can't remember what they are, because I've tried my best to forget this mess.
