Hi all,

I want to improve my Facebook search results. When I type my brother's name, despite his name being quite obscure, it's no where to be seen, yet other results that have lots of other words added too come up instead. Can you help?

Is there anything I can do to make his profile/account come up in at least the first 5 or 7?

He has 56 friends/likes...is that an issue?

He's never going to reach the amount of friends/likes that are above him (from 3,000 to 5,000) but his name is closer to the search term being used, so is there a way to improve the results by changing something in the account?

Use the search filters, I guess. But FB has a stupid search engine because they fight Google too much. So... SUCK IT FACEBOOK.

If you know any of his friends names look them up and then find him on their friend list.

I'm not having trouble talking to my brother. I want to know why the search results don't show him high up and if there was a way to improve that. How about if other people cannot find him. It's a problem and I just wondered if a solution existed.

Maybe Graph Search will be better. Not sure when it will be fully rolled out though.

Google doesn't really take into account facebook, as they try to distance themselves from other search engines. They more or less send you to a very vague linkdin, facebook or yellow pages site.

I'm lucky because I'm the only person in the World with my name. So... That's nice.

My name is pretty unique as well, and yet people can't find me when they search for me more often than not. I have no idea why. I have a hard time finding people sometimes as well. Basically their search thing sucks.
