Post Ok so the worst thing just happened...
There is a guy that I like very much. We've been talking the last couple months, I went and spent the weekend with him a couple weeks ago. He lives 3 hours away. Everything is going great.

UNTIL...

My sister tried to help block my exes phone number on my phone so he can't call me anymore. Instead she successfully somehow got it to where my incoming calls were being forwards to his number, instead of blocking it.

So naturally guess who tries to call me and gets through to my ex instead? So here I am expecting a phone call from this guy, who I haven't been able to actually talk to on the phone in a a week and a half because he's been working until like midnight every night until tonight. Instead I get a weird message from him that makes no sense, and he's obviously pissed off. I assumed the message was sent to me by mistake. Then I get a phone call from my ex who is screaming at me for giving another guy his phone number. I was totally clueless as to what was going on, forgetting that my sister has messed with my phone. It did finally dawn on me what must have happened.

Of course I explained how this happened to both guys. The new guy of course is weirded out by the whole situation I'm sure, and thinks I have a stalker I need to deal with. Which pretty much I know that, that's why I was trying to block his number in the first place.

Anyway, I'm quite upset at the whole situation. It's hard to explain such a weird thing to someone you haven't known for very long and feel like they trust you are telling the truth. I mean it probably looks to him like I was with my ex and he answered his phone or something. He was texting my phone still, not my exes and he insisted he called my phone twice trying to talk to me and got him, as if it still shows up on his end like it was my phone the whole time.

How do I fix this? :(

That's been my answer for everything since 1994. :hahaha: I told her about the situation she caused. She thinks it's hilarious. Which in a way it kind of is, I mean who would think such a stupid thing would happen, but then it also kinda really sucks. It'd be pretty funny if their conversation consisted of something like, "Oh hey must have dialed the wrong number" (this actually was said at first) and then the response should have been "oh, no problem." But no, my ex still talks to people we both used to work with, so he knows the guys name and he asked the guy his name when he said it was the wrong number for some dumb reason and realized who it was. And apparently proceeded to threaten the guy.

I thought you already did. You explained the situation to both guys. Nothing else you can do now, Batnanna. If the new guy is put off by this, perhaps he wasn't worth it in the first place.

That's why I never let my family deal with anything on that level. That's down right an awful foul up.

Though I had a female friend who once took a plane to another city to meet up with a guy, and he never showed up, phone disappeared, I still don't think she's over that one.

It is pretty funny in a Murphy's Law kind of way. :P

To be completely honest, for the first time ever I completely agree with Algren. I was pretty much going to say EXACTLY what he said.

Tell someone talented your story, sell the rights as a screenplay, get either Wes Anderson or David Russell to direct, depending on which of the two opposite directions you want to take the direction of your romantic-comedy, sit back, wait for the money and awards to come rolling in, hire a bodyguard, have the bodyguard beat the shit out of your stalker, let the fame help you win over this new guy.

Simple

What the two above said.

I am sure, being you, the situation sucks a lot. But on paper...this looks right out of a movie. Thus pretty funny.

I think merely explaining it all, shoud do. The new guy will probably be annoyed/pissed off for a little while, but it WILL pass.

First, never let someone else mess with your phone.
Second, forget about the ex.
Third, sounds like you and the new person can move on from this hiccup and chuckle about it.

I think all of us have had at least one crazy ex. You've explained the situation to the new guy...hopefully he'll understand. It's not your fault.

Ok, everything seems to be ok today. But does anyone know how to block a number on a prepaid verizon phone?

I've been the crazy ex, therefore I am exempt from being having a crazy ex of my own.

There is a free program called Verizon Safeguards....not sure if it's available to pre-paid though.

It says it is on their website and that on a prepaid phone you can block up to 5 phone numbers. But then when you actually try to it wont let you do anything. It's retarded. It shouldn't be such a difficult thing to do. When I had a contract with them it was easy. But it makes no sense to have a contract with them when you can get the same thing much cheaper through their prepaid service. Except apparently you can't block phone calls.

I feel ashamed about it, so I'd rather not.
