Who will eventually win his/her 3rd/4th Oscar?
Meryl Streep has recently won her third Oscar. Daniel Day-Lewis might very soon become the first person to win three Best Actor Oscars.
Is there anyone, who you expect to wind up with his/her third Oscar based on their career choices and their work?
Actors/actresses who have won twice or three times so far:
Meryl Steep (3 wins) Jack Nicholson (3 wins) Dustin Hoffman (2 wins) Tom Hanks (2 wins) Sally Field (2 wins) Maggie Smith (2 wins) Sean Penn (2 wins) Denzel Washington (2 wins) Jodie Foster (2 wins) Robert De Niro (2 wins) Hilary Swank (2 wins) Michael Caine (2 wins) Kevin Spacey (2 wins) Daniel Day-Lewis (2 wins, soon maybe 3) Jessica Lange (2 wins) Dianne Wiest (2 wins)
I might be forgetting one or two, but is mostly it of those who are still alive. Who of them, do you see eventually winning another Oscar?
I'm pretty sure that Denzel Washington will write history and become the first African American actor to win three Oscars. He's hugely beloved by audiences and seemingly so in Hollywood. Tom Hanks also seems like an obvious choice one day, he just needs a right role.
And I believe that Meryl Streep will win her 4th and tie Katherine Hepurn. Not sure about the rest, though I'd love for Nicholson to win his 4th.

Hilary Swank might come out of the left field again and go for her third one. Both her wins, while easy to predict in their respective years, really came out of nowhere. She's really not somebody you expect to have 2 wins already.

Eh, she was not the frontrunner for her first win, that was still Annette Bening.

His last was How Do You Know back in 2010.
I really think he was robbed of an Oscar nod for The Departed.

I believe Hanks and Penn will win again in the future.

If he's good enough could Hanks get one for Saving Mr. Banks? I have a feeling he can get nominated at least.

If she keeps picking the right roles, Jennifer Lawrence stands a good chance to win her second Oscar before she turns 30, IMO. The third and fourth are only a matter of time after that.

I think Meryl gets to 5. Another by the end of the decade (if not next year) and then an On Golden Pond wrinkles win way down the road. I would bet De Niro gets #3

Should we include directors as well?

Nah, Clint is done now. He's too old and he's too boring. The Academy has done enough to support him without feeling guilty to give him another one.
Spielberg will earn another, for sure.

I wish Peter Weir could win his first Oscar after six nominations. Peter Jackson robbed him in 2003.

Quality, not quantity.
