That really is the most embarrassing and humiliating thing that can happen to a singer.
I am very amused but seriously
Please remember, she is a kid. and lets be honest, all these pop singers today lip synch. How is she any different? Like a little girl, she walked off the stage. She ain't no Madonna .. shes still learning the tricks of the trade and is expected to do immature things like that.
The only thing unprofessional though and she must learn is not blaming the band. I mean come on .. they played the wrong song?? We heard the whole tape woman!! In the background! maybe the problem is that you forgot!!

Or I'm not interpreting correctly what lip sync is.
It's still her voice, she sang it, but not live on SNL, right? Milli Vanilli were complete frauds, they didn't record anything.

Not sure if you're serious or not bABA, but yes it's true.
While in Milli Vanilli they didn't sang on any song, anonymus people were doing that.
Though after, they actually did. Those two had a band, and did record an album which was sold in massive numbers....2000 copies. :-)
Later one of the member killed himself iirc.

They were a band that protested lip synching or something, and one night during a performance on TV, I think, the recording of their song began playing much too fast, Chipmunks-style, leaving them looking like idiots. It ruined their career.
Ashlee's pretty much in a similar circumstance.

I'm pretty sure most of the pretty young pop singer girls lip sync. Probably about a dozen of them now are just grateful they were not the ones who were found out like Ashlee was.
I don't trust really good looking singers. What are the odds that someone might be a one in a million good voice and also a one in a million good looking person? It's all smoke and mirrors.

Did anyone else catch her phone call on TRL where she said that earlier that day she had a bad case of acid reflux, and that's why she lip synched? Haha, yeah, okay, whatever Ashlee. That was the dumbest thing I ever heard. The world found out she lip synches, and there's no use in her trying to deny it.

This story becomes bigger and bigger with every passing day. And i keep losing respect for this girl.
Shes put the blame on just about everyone so far, the drummer, the doctor, her father ..., acid reflux
a) The drummer: He played the wrong song.
Response: I would imagine one to know their own songs! she didnt look surprised till her voice came on .. one would think she would recognise it beforehand and do something ... or atleast play along!! I know a song by listening to the first 2 or 3 chords!!
b) Doctor: said you shouldnt sing cause of the acid reflux. C) Father said try lip synch D) Acid reflux itself.
I know acid reflux. Yes, possibly a good explanation actually but just be honest and admit it that you lip synch .. since music stopped being music and became a business, theres no harm in just saying so ...
