Nighthawks


One of the best damned films ever made. It's got such a great urban and real-life quality to it, and matched with Stallone's beard and long hair and partner being from the ghetto, and it's just full of city New York flavour. The music they use in the movie, especially I'm A Man played in the disco scene (which culminated in a great chase through the streets), is amazing. There's even a Rolling Stones track in there too, which is quite noticeable and means a lot when I hear it other than in Nighthawks. Rutger Hauer is a brilliant villain and Persis Khambatta is a great sidekick to his pure evil. The ending is great. This is a serious adult thriller, they don't make 'em like this anymore.
