Oh and I forgot to say that the "Kill the Jews!" scene was one of the most surprising WTF? moments and possibly one of the most hilarious ones I've ever seen.

Very clueless to why this is a classic. The first 20 minutes is really the only involving material. The Odessa Steps is somewhat interesting but the scene is brought down by over dramatic approaches and too blatant propaganda. Just a mess overall.

i thought there were actually two masterpiece-worthy scenes...the steps, obviously, but the final crescendo was absolutely fantastic, and really i think the ending is brilliant for lifting you so high and then pulling a trick like that.

i wasn't awfully impressed with the movie up until the steps (good not great etc.) but those two scenes alone make this a pretty awesome movie.

78/100, B+
