 Lucio Fulci....Italian Horror Legend Lucio Fulci is one of the greatest horror film directors in history. I decided to start this thread as a tribute to the great man and i suggest that all of the horror fans out there check out his work if you want to see some truly great foreign horror films.
With films like Zombie, City Of The Living Dead, The Beyond, House by the Cemetary, and New York Ripper, he opened me up to a whole new world of horror.

Fulci is wonderful. His films have some of the worst acting/story/music you will ever see, but damn, that man can shoot a film. Extremely creative and inventive director. One of Fulci's trademarks is his use of extremely intense gore, which could either be a turn on or turn off. He has a particularly odd fetish for ocular damage.

He has a particularly odd fetish for ocular damage. i think some of the bad actng may be attributed to some of the re-dubbing but it sure as heck ain't great, hehe. and yes, the more ocular damage in a film, the better. he came up with some of the most creative and goriest death scenes that i can ever remember. his films have such an ominous tone that i love.

Well well well. I feel silly admitting I'm still trying to work up the courage to watch Argento's Suspiria.
If we have a foreign film festival I'm going to do it even if it *kills* me.

*gasp* hehe that's pretty tame compared to some of Fulci's work, but it's a good starting point into italian horror, as it's a pretty good movie. I'm not a big Argento fan but Suspira is pretty good.

i've seen only one fulci movie, the beyond, which is supposed to be his best film. i thought it was allright, the silly story was an excuse for a lot of gory set pieces which were really fun to watch.
