Re: Production Budgets
Also, $30M budget for Hope Springs. Wow, if those numbers are true, Bourne needs to open close to its predecessors and/or have $200M+ overseas to breakeven or else it'll be a loss for them.

Re: Production Budgets
Statham, Stallone, Lundgren, Li, Couture, Crews, Hemsworth, Schwarzenegger, Van Damme, Willis, Adkins, Norris = 12 big names Divided equally, that is $7.5m each, which is a bargain for most of those names. Not to mention actual production costs and other cast members and everything else that goes into making a movie. I think $90m is incredibly SMALL for The Expendables 2. Sure, it's bigger than TE1, but still a cheap picture by how much money the movie can make. Oh, and lets not forget the fine for killing bats.

Re: Production Budgets
7.5 million is more than most of those deserve.

Re: Production Budgets
Yes, it probably is, but factor in the production costs and other cast members, and those 12 stars are getting, what, $3-$5m each, which is fair. Still a bargain for that cast me thinks.

Re: Production Budgets
The cast for TE is surely not expensive. Do you think Stathom would still be in movies if he took $7.5m and got movies opened to less than that OW? Same goes for all of those 12 names none of them alone can get big audience in theaters unless the movie is heavily marketed by studios.

Divided equally, that is 12.9m each, which is way way too much for most of those outdated names, as clearly demonstrated by the gross of the film. It's high in reality. It's high in relation to other films given the narrow(ish) scope and limit of the type of action, this isn't Avengers sci-fi war shit. It's just guns. 90m isn't terrible and with overseas the movie will make a profit, but it's higher than necessary and won't make a lot of money partially because of that.

The production companies has already made all of its money back by selling rights to distribs around the world. $90m was nothing. It got $35m from Lionsgate for just two markets.

Re: Production Budgets
Someone is trying to convert their black money to while with OOGLIVES Given the marketing push that is a big number for Premium Rush and the release mess of Apparition. Great number for Hit and Run and Possession.

Re: Production Budgets
Amazing budget for The Words. It will easily turn a profit, particularly after international and DVD/Blu-ray receipts are counted.
Bradley Cooper must have thought this was a potential Oscar vehicle for him and agreed to a reduced fee.

Re: Production Budgets
That seems like....a lot. Kind of like Underworld: Awakening's budget was way higher than it should have been.
But a $300 million WW total will make sure this is a hit.

Re: Production Budgets
Very curious to know the budget of this weekend's releases. None of them should be above $40 million, IMO...
