Re: Universal Moving Ahead With "HUNTSMAN" Sequel
Quote: Universal reconceives the follow-up to focus on Chris Hemsworth's character as writer David Koepp exits.
Universal has decided to shelf its planned Snow White and the Huntsman sequel and is instead focusing on a solo Huntsman movie starring Chris Hemsworth. Kristen Stewart will not be invited to return if the follow-up goes forward.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the sequel to June's Snow White, which starred Stewart, Hemsworth and Charlize Theron, is being reconceived as a spinoff movie. It's unclear whether director Rupert Sanders will return, though one source with ties to the production says he will. However, screenwriter David Koepp, who had been hired to pen the continuation of the original film, is being settled out of his rich contract, according to sources, as the project is being transformed into something other than the movie that Koepp had been hired to write.
"The studio is currently exploring options to continue the franchise," a Universal spokeswoman says.
The move comes in the wake of Stewart, 22, and the married Sanders, 41, apologizing publicly for a romantic affair after compromising photos of the duo were published in July. (Stewart was dating her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson.) While it might have been awkward for Stewart and Sanders to reunite for a sequel, it is not clear why the decision to move forward without Stewart was made. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/k ... rth-361945

Re: Universal Moving Ahead With "HUNTSMAN" Sequel
Didn't Kristen Stewart just "drop out" of some other movie too?
I feel like, between the end of Twilight and her lack of evident talent, she's probably doomed to obscurity sooner rather than later.

Having the affair wasn't the problem. Getting caught was.

The public shaming can stop any time now, honestly.
It seems, Angelina Jolie excepted, women involved in extramarital liaisons are "punished" much more than their male lover. Compare Meg Ryan and Russell Crowe's post-Proof of Life careers.

Well Kstew was already disliked by most people. "Breaking Edward Cullen's heart" will temporarily alienate anybody that still likes her.
Angelina's hits are all skewed towards men who don't care about any of this tabloid stuff.

Stewart also had an affair with a director which is a bigger issue I think for some in the industry. Still, he should be in the same boat as her.

Because directors never sleep with their stars.

Re: Universal Moving Ahead With "HUNTSMAN" Sequel
I actually don't think she lacks talent. I thougt she was pretty good in On the Road, effectively destroying her sweet-girl-Twilight-image in a similar way as Pattinson tries to destroy his "image" with films like Bel Ami and Cosmopolis.

Can't even remember when the first was released. 2012?
No one is going to watch this.

Re: Universal Moving Ahead With "HUNTSMAN" Sequel
I think you had better check the review threads for proof of that statement.
But even if I did enjoy parts of the Twilight saga, it does not mean that Stewart is talented.
