F**kin awesome trailer. Cannot wait. Ex 2 just became my 5th most anticipated movie of the year (after Prometheus, TDKR, Django Unchained and Savages). Stallone vs. Van Damme at the end is enough to get me into the cinema on opening day. Van Damme and Jason Voorhees used to be my heroes growing up..

I'm having a feeling that this will explode. The box-office seems quiet right now, this has been well-marketed, the original decently received and seeing Arnie back in a large role should be exciting for action fans.

Right now I see something along these lines:

Opening Weekend - $51 million

Total Gross - $118 million

We'll see if the shooting messes this up, it's the most guns, violent, blow 'em shoot 'em up movie so if anything outside DKR will be heavily affected it could be this, but maybe it's far enough removed. A month is a good amount of time for people to move the fuck on. 44m/109m is my current prediction, Bourne will outgross it considerably.

This breaking out would be pathetic.

But if people liked the godawful generic Expendables...

My prediction in the game here was 165 mill and I've felt that this would be big right from the start. I'm thinking a 50-60 mill OW is in store. And sorry Dark Shape, but you're way off base with your opinion of this. People did like the first one, a lot of people. And this added Arnold, Bruce, Norris and Van Damme. That is enough to give it an increase.

The data makes me think it will increase, but the movie just didn't seem memorable to me. I'm guessing 110m-115m.

I disagree, just from the trailer it looks to have some of the best set pieces I've seen in an Action film in maybe 4 years. The budget increase looks like it's really making a difference. It almost looks like a Call of Duty All Stars Game brought to life.

Did you see Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol?

I can't remember a single action setup from the trailer other than "My shoe is bigger dan dis car!"

A Call of Duty All-Star Game... That explains it.

A lot of Ghost Protocol was CGI though. A big tall building being climbed is exciting in a different kind of way. It's amazing in the movie, for sure.

That all stunt huge shot of the Fanboats/ plane chase looks amazing; motorcycle vs. helicopter fight, Tanks going 50mph through walls. 5 guys on a zipline through a camp blowing people away. Then you have the shots of the different big names lighting people up. And I'm staying away from almost all media as I don't want to be spoiled.

There just haven't been many memorable money shots in trailers this year outside of the The Bat in TDK, Legacy is just kind of been there done that. Prometheus, TDK, Avengers (Circle lineup at the end) and Prometheus maybe had higher scale ones, but these are just exciting for an entirely different reason. In my opinion anyway. The first Expendables really had no money shots in the trailer, this lone looks extremely intense action wise.

Ghost Protocol is so overrated, lol. Completely forgettable movie. Showmanship still requires heart.

Um, I don't know where you people have been or what you've watched but the original Expendables had even worse set pieces than the Mechanic for example. There was absolutely no inventiveness there at all, basically an entirely DTV set up besides the cast, who honestly, are now mostly DTV stars anyway.

I can't remember a single shot from TE2's trailer but maybe they've learned some lessons, then again, TE did relatively well, so they can be as boring and generic and get away with it with people cumming over an awful Last Supper rendition poster.

So because you have no interest in it, you think it will have no appeal to the masses?

Who says I have no interest in it? I said there were no set pieces in the trailer that stood out.
