 Re: Weekend actuals
Just heard a man has been arrested with a car full of weapons, and he's saying he went into a theatre showing The Dark Knight Rises armed. Not the news story the theatre industry needs right now... http://www.bostonherald.com/news/region ... 1061147928

 Re: Weekend actuals
That would down 50%, off quite a bit from TDK's 44% Monday drop. Hopefully it comes in higher.

There's no reason for WB to donate anything except good press. Your media controls you it seems. Unfortunately, people in the U.S. totally let themselves be controlled by the media. When you turn on the news, 90% of what you see it negative. You know, Michael Moore may have a slanted view of things, but he got some things right in Bowling For Columbine.

 Re: Weekend actuals
If that $20m number holds true then it is definitely a harsher drop from TDK. Anything lower from TDK from this point will reduce its potential for $500m as it will start getting behind TDK specially over those record breaking first weekdays of the later.
EDIT: This would also mean that TDKR will go behind TDK's four day total.

500 is gone. We need to see now if it can hit 450.

One they certainly SHOULD NOT have felt obligated to do, but it's still nice anyway.

Donating money to families: Nice, caring gesture. Not releasing box office numbers because of the incident: Brain dead

I'm certainly not saying Warner Bros. is to blame, because they definitely aren't. It's not their fault or the fault of the film, but they clearly feel bad and want to do something, and I think that's a good thing. It's not like we didn't get fairly accurate estimates throughout the weekend anyway.

 Re: Weekend actuals
Why should they feel bad? It's not as if bullets came out of the screen and killed people.
It's not like the epileptic fits Pokemon gave children back in the 1990s on TV.

I might be minority here but I am impressed by the way WB has handled the situation.
