 Ted (INTL)
After grossing $31.3m in just 4 territories so far, I think TED deserves its own INTL thread...
TED dropped only 22 % to $6.9m in Australia ($24.5m total) and opened with $1.5m in NZ...

 Re: Ted (INTL)
It has been very big in the markets it was released till now. I don't think it will do the same elsewhere but will do a respectable total in the end. HUGE success and the biggest surprise of summer overseas as well.

 Re: Ted (INTL)
Mark, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Ted's opening (in admissions) the biggest for a film with a 16-rating since The Dark Knight? And should it pass that film's total (which it very well might), it could become the biggest rated 16 movie since The Matrix Reloaded nine years ago, hm?
Wow.

 Re: Ted (INTL)
It's more than a tad embarrassing I once thought this would be a completely niche movie and only perform modestly, lol. Such a stunning run.

 Re: Ted (INTL)
Doing really good in Russia, great WOM, dropped 44% in its 2nd w/e, $11.5 m so far, $2 m more to become the market's highest grossing US comedy. $17 m total is likely. That's the level of animation and comic books in 3D. Will outperform Brave, Lorax, Thor... Also big in Ukraine. Sequel will be huge - $35+ m total.

Such a stunning run. yeah its a bit crazy that its doing this well. I mean, I enjoyed it and all but its not like an "instant classic" like Hangover was. Hangover "instant clasic"? One of the most overrated fillms of the last 20 years!

 Re: Ted (INTL)
Yeah I am also not sure what made it THIS popular specially over OW? Was it marketing? or maybe audience were really dying out to see a decent looking comedy this summer over all the action movies.

 Re: Ted (INTL)
TED is already the 6th biggest release of the year in Germany and probably will pass TDKR in a couple of weeks to be temporarily at No. 3.... http://www.insidekino.com/DJahr/D2012.htm

As of September 6th there will be two new versions coming out in Germany: In one the bear will speak Bavarian, in the other one he will speak Berlin slang...

I know of two cases: An ASTERIX (animated) movie and AMADEUS which got a Vienna dubbed version many months into its run...

 Re: Ted (INTL)
Should get into #150 for unadjusted WW total easily but #100 seems out of reach cause it needs $500m WW which might not be possible. There might be a chance for a sequel given the ending.

 Re: Ted (INTL)
It's absolutely INSANE that this film will gross $500+ million worldwide! The sequel will be HUUUUUGE. I could see $700-800 million worldwide for it.
