 Re: Madagascar 3 (INTL)
$16.5mln in Russia is a bit underwhelming. Everyone expected 20m+ start.

 Re: Madagascar 3 (INTL)
$500m OS total is not yet assured but I think it will crawl to that number in the end unless Brave completely annihilates it. Given the empty marketplace, WOM, inflation and 3D being strong now it should atleast increase from $423m OS total of the previous movie.

$500 million not yet assured? Wut?
The number waqs assured ever since the movie has been announced. The mocie is at $75 million and has yet to open in ALL OF EUROPE.
I'm saying $600+ million overseas.

 Re: Madagascar 3 (INTL)
So Lecter is saying that the movie cannot underwhlem and it is written in paper to make $600m+.
Let it reach about $300m OS total and we can talk about $600m+ being a lock. $500m is highly likely at this point I'd say also another thing is that Brave that can hamper its run sooner than expected for $600m+ OS total.

 Re: Madagascar 3 (INTL)
BRAVE will be no competition in Germany, where BRAVE opens 2 months ahead of MAD3 (October 2nd)...

I didn't say it was a lock for $600 million. Though should be a lock for $500 million.

 Re: Madagascar 3 (INTL)
Huge number and a great hold from last weekend. With Europe still to come I think $400m OS is locked. It needs to hold on well next weekend as well though specially since Brave is releasing in quite a few OS markets as well.

 Re: Madagascar 3 (INTL)
I am still not seeing $600m OS as of now. IA4 and Brave would provide it really big competition. IA4 is definitely doing better than both of these movies in its earlier release which could mean modest returns for Mad 3 in rest of its markets and then there is Brave as well.

 Re: Madagascar 3 (INTL)
Big drop I guess mostly due to IA4. Even with Europe I don't see another $340m OS unless it breaks records even then it might fall short of $600m OS total. Still $500m OS is looking good.
