Best list yet! All of those are on my fave list too. American Beauty being the only one that didn't make my top 100, but I still really like it.
Looks to me like everyone agrees that Tenebaums is the best of the Wes flicks. I liked it better than Rushmore and Bottle Rocket and Life Aquatic. It was excellent, and a bit touching too. L.A. Confidential can always use more loving. I think it a terrific movie and I watched it twice big screen, along with a handful of times after it came out on video. Jurassic Park is classic, those ringlets of water have been imitated a million times, but Spielberd was a master of suspense in that movie. One of the best action movies in decades.

I said to myself, dolce, this movie actually gives less screentime to a working class town, it people and the Vietnam war, than it does to freaking gun held at the temple. I found the device annoying after its second use, and failed to get into the movie that was ultimately about it and not much else.
Excellent on Unforgiven, scroll to page 2 in Movies section and I'm pretty sure Archie and I are talking about the movie right now. The Title is something like "Did Eastwood get it backwards in Unforgiven." CTHD is still the best one I've seen. I've probably only seen about ten such movies, but it puts this year's releases to shame. Lion King is the most beautiful of the contemporary Disney 2d. The opening sequence is untouchable. Not my favorite storyline but an animation high. Shwashank is Shawshank, I have yet to hear anyone say they didn't like this movie. Its a good movie, good storytelling, tight, interesting humanist. Characters have startlingly sympathetic histories for a high security prison, but I overlook that and just enjoy the story. Grave of the Fireflies is so depressing. It has to be the first truly depressing Japanese animation movie I saw. I could barely make it through the whole thing. Not because it was bad, it was just so heavy.

Almost everyone I know who has seen Bubba Ho-Tep after a long, long wait has been very disappointed in it. I hope it's good for you, Algren.

My favorite scenes were the ones inside the town. I liked Walken and his friends together at home before they lost their "innocence."

My friend James recommended it to me, but only after warning me first. He'd bought it, sight unseen, due to a website recommendation for CHILDREN'S FILMS. He wasangered by the recommendation, but happy he'd seen it first because it would have traumatized his poor kiddies.
