Potentially classic bounce if OKC wins this year

I thought "Well they just blew their chance" after Dallas lost G1 to Miami last year, so I won't count them out. never underestimate the heart of a champion

I'm willing to count out Mavs. They're not the same team they were last year. And they're facing Thunder in Round 1, a team that might win it all.

Thunder do potentially have a rough schedule, though. Mavs, Lakers, Spurs, Heat? Jeez.

I swear if they had Ryan Anderson or Ersan Ilyasova instead of Ibaka they would be the favorites. I like Ibaka but what they need when Westbrook, Harden and Durant are on at the end of the game is a 4th offensive guy who does nothing but stand at the 3pt line and wait for an open shot/get a defender out of the paint. I think they signed Fisher to do that but he's like the worst player in the NBA this year.

Thunder bench is fine. Not having Maynor hurts, but they still have a good bench. And Perkins is a great defender. Brings toughness to the team which was sorely needed.

You got all that from one game against the Nuggets?

Which I guess means the Hawks are the favorite in the east?

Four quarter game, seven game series. Let's not crown anyone anything just yet.

The Celtics couldn't hit a battered woman right now if they wanted to.

Rondo might've just dug the Celtics an 0-2 hole. The call on Bass was iffy, but you can't bump the ref.

Pierce - 5/19 12pts
Garnett - 8/19 (most makes came late) 20pts
Rondo - 10/18 20pts
Rest of the team - 9/26 22pts

Wow. :funny:

Rondo's move just made this a seven game series which can still go either way because, as Magnus said, the Hawks are the Hawks.

This must be hard for a team to stay motivated when you get down over 25. A quick 5 points and the clips are nearing 20 again. So tough mentally to stay focused on this game I bet.

A 26-1 run by the Clippers?! Insane. Finally looking like the series that everyone was looking forward to.

Can't see them winning Game 2 with the way they lost this one, at home nonetheless.

Both those teams lost on the road, so the damage for giving away the game wasn't as severe; it didn't change the home court advantage, and they could shrug it off as "hey we didn't steal one on the road, but we could come back here and do it again". The only good thing for Memphis is that this is the first game, and being in the first round means extended schedule, so there are two days off between each of the first three games.

I have a feeling Thunders will now win big for Game 3. After two close calls, there could be a tendency to say we're back home and let's just regroup now, while in reality Durant is unlikely to have three off-shooting games in a row, and with two games in the bag, they could play more relaxed and for a young team, could result in better individual and team performances.

I was thinking the same thing. Even if they sweep the Mavs, if all the games are this close, I'm not sure how they're going to get past Lakers AND Spurs.

Spurs would definitely be trouble as that is the one team that seems to have them, but the Lakers can't hang with the Thunder. That could be a 5 game series for the Thunder.

Looks like they were 2-1 against the Lakers and that loss needed a Thunder collapse and even then they had a chance to win on the last shot twice.

What people may not know is that Dallas had the third best defense in the West. Also, Dallas doesn't have a great home record. I could easily see this as a sweep. Though I think Dallas will win Game 4.

Great team win for the C's and an especially great performance from Paul Pierce. They needed a big game from him and he brought it. From 12 points in Game One to 36 points tonight.

Hawks/Atlanta have the worst fans in sports. They have to be prompted every single time to get loud, and at least a third of the fans in attendance were Celtics fans.

And for at least one game, the loss of Derrick Rose might as well have been a kick to the nuts for the Bulls. They're still a decent team without Rose and shouldn't be losing by 20 to the 76ers. The Sixers might actually have a chance now in that series.

Yeah, Sixers!

Nice win for the Celtics, too. They really needed it. Now Rondo can come back and I think they'll actually take this.
