Wrath of the Titans - 28 mil. Mirror Mirror - 16
I feel strange more or less predicting the sequel to gross over the course of three days what its predecessor did in one, but I can't bring myself to go any higher. Just not sensing any hype. I do believe a solid audience of young men will show up, but not enormous crowds.

It does feel weird that the sequel is poised to open that low.

Re: March 30-April 1 Predictions
Mirror Mirror might have a shot to top Wrath which is looking really bad at this time IMO.

Honestly, I disagree. We have the estimated theatre counts for the openers. I don't see what the big deal is. Jog on, bitch.

Re: March 30-April 1 Predictions
$36M for Wrath. $18M for Mirror Mirror. Hunger Games will likely beat the two of them combined. If the Saturday drop isn't too bad then Avatar's 2nd weekend record is in play.

The Hunger Games - $62M Wrath of the Titans - $38M Mirror Mirror - $17M
THG will definitely hurt the openers, but I think MM will get hurt the MOST. Eventhough HG is drawing in males the majority of it's audience is still mostly female.

I think it's stupid predicting next weekend's numbers for movies already playing when the weekend numbers aren't even out, but I don't see anything wrong with predicting next weekend's openers. I've predicted them a month in advance before.

Re: March 30-April 1 Predictions
I wonder how many theatres will play Intruders (the Clive Owen horror movie). Is it going to be one of those movies where it's in loads of Arizona, Texas, and North Carolina theatres, but is nowhere to be found near D.C. or Chicago or Manhattan? I hope not. I want to see it a lot.

Re: March 30-April 1 Predictions
The Hunger Games 80m Wrath of the Titans - 36m Mirror Mirror - 27m
There is room for Wrath and Mirror despite Hunger due to the emptiness of the marketplace outside THG and 21JS.

Re: March 30-April 1 Predictions
That would set it on a course well over 400 million ^^^
I see 62 million for THG, I see this falling 60% which would be a good drop for a film like this

Re: March 30-April 1 Predictions
Hunger Games will fall back down to Earth. I'm thinking a 60% drop to early sixties.
Everything about Wrath screams 'unnecessary sequel.' I think there's more room in the market for family fare like Mirror, Mirror to do well than Wrath.

Re: March 30-April 1 Predictions
Still that 2nd weekend would mean a 2nd weekend 15 million larger then DH2 and 20 million bigger then New Moon.
