What was overshadowed in that amazing game was that Ibaka had 11 blocks

and a triple double
14 PTS + 15 REB + 11 BLK

lol, sucks their defense wasn't good enough that they had to have Durrant & Westbrook score 91 points

they are soooo going out in the 2nd round of the playoffs

Philly has lost 5 in a row and the Knicks are catching up.

Exciting season so far. Especially in the West. 3 to 13 separated by only 6.5 games. By contrast, in the east 3 to 13 is separated by 12.5 games. And will Orlando trade Howard or make one last title run? I say go for it. Anyone can win this year.

Could get DeAndre Jordan from the Clips. Better than Brook Lopez, but not quite as good as Bynum.

Orlando would be better to just let Dwight go and have him sign with Dallas or Lakers (which are the two teams he likely would end up with in free agency) and then rebuild with mid-level guys rather than trade him to the Nets for some guys that only make you marginally better but make your competition significantly better.

That doesn't make any sense. They'll either have to offer him what he wants or they have to be content with the fact that they won't be a good team for several years whether he's traded or leaves on his own. Why would they just let him go without at least getting a draft pick from some team? Who cares if he goes to a team within the conference? They won't be good enough to compete with those teams for several years.

The only way they don't trade him is if they're sure they can lock him up to a deal, and that's very unlikely.

Mo Williams makes 8.5 (last year), Deandre makes 10, Randy Foye 4 (last year), and they'd probably have to include. Bledsoe too since the Clips already traded their 2012 pick. So that is around $34M, which is the same as Howard, Turk, and Duhon. I don't see how the Magic do better than this. Two good young players, two bad contracts gone, and two expiring contracts.

Trading him within conference to a team like the Nets DOES matter. The East is a very top heavy conference. You don't have to e a good team to get that 7th/8th spot. Orlando an compete at that level even without Dwight, but if they make one of the bottom feeders like the Nets legit, then it'll be harder. The amount you gain from non top 5 draft picks and mid-level guys in a trade don't make up for having to compete with another super team.

Why would any of that matter? They're going to suck regardless of whether they trade or let him go. Finishing in 7th or 8th gets them nothing except for a first round sweep and a complete lack of sympathy from the Orlando fanbase, especially if they just let him walk to another team without getting anything back. He also might walk to the Nets (though I agree that he would probably pick Dallas or LA first). What if he walks to anywhere in the East? Where does that leave the Magic if they let him go for nothing? It's not like they're going to lure another free agent to Orlando with Howard gone.

And the Nets with Howard alone are not a super team. They're at best a second round out.

Howard + Deron is a killer duo that will attract other role guys to come to Brooklyn. They would become a legit team. In fact, that combo is the biggest threat to the Heat as it goes against the Heats two biggest weak points (the point and the center). But hes not walking over to that team if he can pick LA or Dallas.

And if they can pull a trade for a team in the West, then go for it. My point is that trading him to the Nets is a bad idea because even four years after this season, that move will hurt you because even if you have rebuild by then, you have to face that team.

I'd agree with that. The Nets definitely should not be their first option. However, if they're left with no other choices, I think they'd have to pull the trigger with the Nets. I think the backlash from the fans would be such that it'd practically kill the Magic for at least five years if not more if they were to just let Howard walk without getting anything in return.

I think we can agree that the Magic are pretty much fucked no matter which way you look at it, unless Howard returns.

Is this on pace to being the highest scoring All-Star Game ever?

Did anyone else think the dunk contest was the worst thing they ever watched? Because it was the worst thing I've ever watched.

Dunk contest was crap. I like Durant's suggestion: give $1 million to the winner. That might actually get LeBron, Westbrook, etc there. Needs some major revamp.

I hate that stars of today think they're too big for the dunk contest.

Got to see the OKC/PHI game. Westbrook with a RIDICULOUS rebound in the final 5 seconds to seal the game.

injuries are totally killing the trade deadline this year

brook lopez reinjury ruin dhoward from being traded to nets
rubio out for season ruin them from trading for gasol or crawford
calderon injury ruin toronto from trading him
lowry injury ruin houston from trading either lowry or dragic
steph curry injury ruin gsw from trading either curry or ellis

its as if players are purposely getting injured to prevent being traded to a different team

At this point I think Deron is more likely to be traded than Dwight.

Usually we see some minor trades at this point. Lakers could get Sessions or Beasley, but they refuse to trade their first round pick.

Where the hell did that Rajon Rondo for Pau Gasol trade come from? Why the hell would the Celtics make that move? I know Rondo is pretty much their only trading chip (though Ainge is now saying he isn't going anywhere), but for Gasol? That wouldn't get them anywhere. And now based on how the Celtics have been playing, though I think they're far from a championship team (compared to the Bulls and the Heat), I think the reason for their slow start was the compact schedule more than anything else.

Too bad Joakim Noah no longer has any trade value.

An actual trade did happen though. Bucks trade Bogut to the Warriors for Ellis. Not sure how that helps Milwaukee, but great move for the Warriors.

even though all signs point to Howard not being traded, I'm expecting a huge last minute offer from New York Knicks (melo rumored to want to be traded) or Lakers (kobe is purposely giving Bynum more touches as a msg to Dwight)

wow mike d'antoni resigns after melo makes trade ultimatum, but I don't think melo can stay either, just like deron git traded after Sloan resigned.

if the front office decision is really based on listening to melo, then they wouldn't sign Jr smith against melo's wishes...I think melo will be a laker, hawk, magic, rocket, or bull by Thursday

What a trade for the Blazers, taking advantage of a a panicking Nets team. As long as it isn't a top 3 pick, the Blazers get New Jerseys 2012 #1 and Okurs huge expiring contract for Gerald Wallace. Can't believe New Jersey would be so foolish.

Dwight Howard will finish the season with Orlando, and likely begin next season with them too.

Cavs trade Sessions for Walton, Kapono, and L.A. #1. Rare trade that benefits both teams equally.

Amazing game last night between the Wolves and Thunder. Kevin Love is amazing ... though I miss watching him play with Rubio.
