The Phantom Menace Re-Release (INTL) $46.1m so far
Judging by first day sales, TPM will open to a very healthy $3.5m-$5.0m here in Germany...

I think it should handily gross $200 million overseas.

125M. Asia doesn't like re-releases. I don't see it doing well there. Europe will have to carry a big chunk of the overseas gross.

Agreed people I know here want to see it but they are just hesitant to spend that much on a re-release.

Wow it is doing very well OS. I think it can make 150 million. I don't think it will crack the top 5 of all time but it will probably be 6th.

TPM was a beast WW.
In terms of tickets sold it was likley as big as Hp1 and ROTK.

Re: The Phantom Menace Re-Release (INTL)
At the international box office, Phantom Menace opened to $20.5 million for a global bow of $43.5 million.
Enough to make 1 billion but not too much otherwise.

I don't know why but Germany seems to be the only country where the re-release is really working... It will be at 0.75m admissions or $9.5m today making it the third biggest release of the year so far (behind French megahit INTOUCHABLES and GIRL WITH DRAGON TATTOO)...

Re: The Phantom Menace Re-Release (INTL) $46.1m so far
I don't know why it's doing so well in Germany and not elsewhere. To me, the reason TPM did so well in it's first release was the obvious pent up demand from Star Wars fans, and that it had a child lead and Jar Jar, appealing to children quite a bit. Few fans were going to be suckered in to see a movie again that they weren't a big fan of in the first place, and many family films lately that are in 3D have been faltering. There aren't that many people who are going to spend $20 per person (ticket/glasses/concessions) to see a movie that was just alright. I'm a pretty big Star Wars fan and intended to see it but decided against it. It just didn't seem worth it after I thought about it.

It did pass a billion dollars which I say is a pretty good accomplishment.
