Re: Top 10 of 2011 Btw, when it comes to calling years "shit years," all it means is that person has seen more movies they did not care for compared to previous years. In my case, its strange, but like the Star Trek flicks, I find the odd (years) to produce a larger quantity of films I do not care for. This time last year, my average grade was a B. Right now 2011 is at a C or C+ highest. And I have watched about the same about of movies within the 7 month period as last year. Its purely coincidental really, but there are definitely "shit years."

Re: Top 10 of 2011 i've (unfortunately) only seen a handful of movies this year, so i only feel comfortable making a top five at this point. 1-4 are very, very strong pictures, so i think declaring this a shit year is a little premature, especially since most of the cannes goodness has yet to trickle down. in fact, based on what i've seen so far and what i see coming down the pike, i'd say this is shaping up to be a fairly strong year.
