This season is so action-packed.

I love it!

The only storyline that's not really working for me is Tommy trying to steal from Maxine or whatever. Okay?

Good. It's very involving and exciting. The series needed to shake up its characters and intensify/alter certain conflicts, and this season is doing a good job of it.

Eh.

The further things get from Sookie the less I care. People seem to complain about Sookie but I've never had any problems with her and at least her storylines don't feel like pure irrelevant padding bullshit. Post-premiere I was looking forward to things a fair bit thanks to the time jump, hoping they'd use that to trim the fat from the show--which is sorely needed--but instead they seem to just be re-introducing all the crap that didn't work last year.

Crystal, Tommy, Arlene's "creepy" baby, Jesus, Alcide, Debbie, Andy's V troubles, and probably a few other things could have all simply been dropped and I would have been happy. Maybe a couple eventual mentions or guest spots, but no. Only three episodes in and I'm already pondering how much more of this I have in me.

With the way things are going again I wonder if Halloween being a week away in-show will end up being far enough into the future to serve as season finale fodder.

I will say I was happy with Eric just killing the fairy godmother chick as at least that's one less character to cut back to. If only he'd just tear through Hot Shot killing every single person there (Jason can stay, I guess) before taking out another half dozen or so in Bon Temp.

There's not much Sookie? That bites. I love her. I think Anna Paquin rocks on this show. She's my fav of everyone.

There's plenty of Sookie. Last night's episode was like 80% her and Eric.

I didn't mean to imply Sookie wasn't around much anymore, but what she's surrounded by kind of unequivocally sucks now.

80% is still quite the exaggeration, though. Sookie herself was there for like a third of the runtime and Eric was around for maybe a fourth it which wouldn't be that bad except the other two thirds was filled with constant cuts back to Jason--still--in hot shot, or Sam/Tommy, Sam/Andy, Sam/Tara, or all the other pointless filler.

I really disagree that it's all stupid filler. For me personally, the only thing I could do without are Tommy's various storylines.

But if the show was all Sookie, Eric and Bill all the time, it would be dreadful.

The Jason storyline is actually interesting, imo. Poor Jason. lol

This season is so much better than the lame third season. The first three episodes have been excellent and intense.

Also, Eric killing Claudine and then being like "whoops" was so twisted and hilarious. I love Amnesia Eric!

"I will personally eat, fuck, and kill each of you" is this years "We will eat you, then we will eat your children!" brilliant line reading

Amnesia Eric and no Bill/Sookie is pretty awesome, first real sense of danger I've sensed for Sookie since the first year with the serial killer subplot.

Jason is still hilarious but he needs to escape (Though the mexican Viagra bit was funny) I agree that they overdoing it a little bit. In the beginning its ok, but they need to resolve some of this shit sooner than later.

This season is so bone inducing in all the right ways (just like all previous three) that if you don't like any part of it y'all need some Mexican Viagra too. And if that doesn't work, well I guess you're just like Phil - good for shooting blanks only.

Yep, Tommy definitely needs to go. I do think they have done a nice job of making Bill and Sam like-able again.

Any ideas on the creepy baby doll? I'm glad they didn't drop that after making a big foreshadowing of it in Hoyt & Jessica's last shot in Season 3.

Well, if we don't look at the second episode blip, this season has been doing much better in the ratings than the third. I really hope it starts gaining viewers midway through just like it and posts new series highs.

The season started in an interesting, albeit a bit shaky way. The opening in Faere world was weird...some fairies throwing light balls? That was too insane, even for True Blood.

But similar to S1 and S3 (S2 was very consistent from the beginning), the season seems to find back to its groove. Amnesia Eric is awesome. The season is still lacking a really distinct villain, though.

I am absolutely loving Amnesia Eric still. Him frolicking in the water and being drunk on fairy blood? Hilarious. And I love his interactions with Sookie.

Alcide's shirtlessness? I don't know how it's possible on a show with this many insanely hot guys, but Joe Mangianello is probably the hottest. Woof.

At least poor Jason has stopped getting raped (!) and escaped Hotshot.

Arlene and Terry's demonic baby storyline is strangely amusing.

Portia being Bill's blood relative=ewwwwww.

Sam's relationship with that Luna woman can't end well. I wonder if her ex werewolf is someone we've already been introduced to.

I wish The Mickens didn't come back. Bleh, I had enough of them last season.

Loving how batshit crazy Fiona Show is as Marnie. Pam's delivery when she was insulting her in the end scene was the best. Love Pam...and I actually felt bad when her face got all destroyed, ew.

I updated the ratings for the fourth episode. Up in the viewers slightly, but down a tenth in the demo.
