One of the most disapointing movies ever. Loved the first one, hated this one. This movie was not funny, not exciting, nothing beside bad. D

Read what Riggs has said. This abdomination of a movie makes me depressed. I love the original and this was one of my most anticipated movies of the year. But what did they do? They took everything that made the first movie good and re-hashed it in a bad way. For its running time of under 90 minutes (!) it still manages to drag and seem overlong. Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith still have chemistry and that saves the movie from being one of the very worst ever made, but it is definitely the most disappointing one ever. Making Frank the talking dog a main character was not a wise idea either and the villain was simply lame. Argh!

I liked it. No, not the brilliance of the first film, but not the train wreck that everyone made it out to be. Had its flaws, but I was still entertained.

Very bad movie. I enjoyed the first film a lot but this was extremely disappointing. I did not laugh once and the plot was terrible.

This movie was very disappointing and just plain unneeded. I loved the first, but I hate this one. Could have been a hell of a lot better.

What made the first one fun was the new concept. There was nothing new in the second, so it was boring.
Some movies shouldn't have sequels, because you can never recreate that fun feeling you get when you see them.

I liked it about as much MIB. That being said, D. An even worse thing was that I saw Reign of Fire the very next weekend.

Its entertaining, but its literally like 67 minutes long, I remeber going to a 8 o clock show, and it was like 9:15 when we left, and it started late. Though for what it is, Smith is on top of his game, and Jones isnt bad either, it just has aboslutely no substance. B-

 Re: Men in Black II
So, I recently decided to buy MIB2 on DVD because A. it was really cheap, and B. I do love the first movie and recalled enjoying the sequel somewhat.
Anyway, after watching them back to back, you can really notice the steep decline in quality. Aside from adding a bunch of juvenile humor to the movie (the talking dog alone ruins much of the movie), the movie just doesn't flow well at all. The villain is not at all established like D'Onofrio in MIB. It takes too long to get Tommy Lee Jones back into the mix. I mean, for an incredibly short movie, it does waste a tremendous amount of time on Smith and his revolving door of partners.
Halfway through, it's a bit better, but definitely nowhere near as good as I thought it was when I first saw it. I remember being the only person in the world to actually enjoy it back then. Now, I see the tremendous difference between the two movies.

 Re: Men in Black II
It's up there (or down there, I suppose) with Exorcist II as far as biggest drops in quality for a sequel. It's fucking TERRIBLE.

But with MIBII, at least it's basically much of the same. Exorcist II acts like there was never an Exorcist I to even compare to. It'd be the equivalent of making Meet the Parents, then making Meet the Fockers, except instead of meeting Ben Stiller's parents in the movie and hilarity ensues, we meet Ben Stiller's family and they murder everyone horribly. ... I think that would've made an awesome movie though. Now my point is irrelevant.

I hope in a few months we don't all look back and say "Well, now Men in Black II doesn't look so bad by comparison!"
