Too surprising to see this part doing that. Hope that releasing the other part too soon does not hurt its legs and the competition would definitely be huge.

I don't think the next one will keep it from hitting 950. The question is will WB rerelease it in 3D? IF they did that, ti could make it over 300 in the U.S. and probably 970 WW.

It past PS as the highest grossing Potter film overseas.
http://in.reuters.com/article/2011/03/1 ... 0220110310. If it gets rereleased with 3D it could top it WW as well.

Great achievement, it was always going to be close, glad it passed the original with raw gross. Took the franchise almost 10 years :funny:

It is now at 952.1m WW total. If they re-release the movie it is sure to go #8 and in the process becoming the first movie to take the original in WW total unadjusted. The real question is can it make another 50m WW and reach that golden 1B mark.....I guess that would be too much to ask specially when DVD's and BluRay's are coming out now.

I personally would not be buying the Blu-Ray until they released the doublepack which i'm hoping there'll be a special edition release or something.

It doesn't look like Double Features will push HP7-1 over the 6m admissions mark in Germany (329,932 tix needed)...

Well wouldn't that be the biggest double features ever?

The LORD OF THE RINGS triple features were about 0.3m admissions...

How's the promo going for 7-2 in Germany? Are they heavily advertising these doubles? I remember when LOTRs had the triple features it was only in very selected cinemas and sessions around the world. Only the hardcore fans new about it.

I hope next year there will be a larger pre-Hobbit re-release of LOTRs. They had the fan event a few weeks ago showing each movie once over 3-weeks....though that was only really restricted to the US and NZ. I want it to be a bigger spectacle here in Australia.

DF's are only advertised by the theaters, not by WB...

I think they will add 100,000 tix at the most...

Additional 100,000 admissions through DFs looks about right here in Germany...
(bringing the total to about 5.77m tix)

I wonder how long it'll take HP7-2 to overtake Part 1. It's looking close to $500m by Sunday, and should be at around $800-850m by the end of the 2nd weekend. Could it do it in 3-4 weeks? :noway:
