Re: THE DARK KNIGHT Rises (INTL.)
This should see a good increase in OS markets. Nolanites are growing in OS markets as well, so I see this one making more than $500m OS and probably even $600m.

Well, if it manages to get a release in China, the gross could be quite awesome and really bolster its overseas potential.

There's no way in hell TDKR doesn't get released in China this time. That is a very large market. It'll definitely have increase OS.

Re: THE DARK KNIGHT Rises (INTL.)
If it does, it's potential is just huge. There's no TDK comparisons to go buy. It could do as big as Transformers 3 if all that we know.

Re: THE DARK KNIGHT Rises (INTL.)
It will do over 700 million. TDK expanded the audience for Batman like no other film and after 3 years of inflation + the expansion of foreign markets it will be monstrous.

I am not yet sure of this being released in China yet. If it does then we can see $700m OS total for it

Not sure if it'll increase that much from TDK which made $468.6m. $700m would be a 50% increase which is hard to get. You're forgetting that TDK had pretty favourable exchange rates when it opened and the success in the domestic market translated somewhat to bigger overseas takings. I'm thinking $600m is a possibility with China also opening, but $700m is an outperformance mark. Even SPiderman 3 which had a huge increase overseas managed only 35%. It will need to have an Ice Age 3 style increase if its to hit $700m. Ice Age 3 had a similar situation whereby the 2nd release grossed $460.1m and it went on to gross $690.1m. almost 50%. increase. It will need some massive gains in the emerging markets as well. TDK only made a measly $9m in that market when that year was delivering $20m+ grosses for The Mummy 3 and Kung Fu Panda. I'm thinking it may reach $20m this time around with the growth in the market, but anything above $30m would be a true surprise.

Re: THE DARK KNIGHT Rises (INTL.)
With Transformers doing so well, can anyone say $700m for The Dark Knight Rises? I'm starting to think that $600m is going to be a lock with $700m the big target.
Wow, the past few months have been insane for international box office, i'm raising predictions for next year's Summer crop.

Re: THE DARK KNIGHT Rises (INTL.)
I don't think $700m is on the table, TDKR is not in 3D, superheroes were never a huge hit internationally, SM3 is the only one that did considerably more overseas than in North America (as far as i know). $600m+ is possible, though, but it wouldn't surprise me if it ends up with "only" around $500m.

What if Christian Bale dies? I wonder if WB execs are asking that same question... If I were Bale, I would be very careful with those guys. They probably won't kill Depp though - he is gonna make billions even outside of the Pirates franchise. Bale, on the other hand, is not.

Re: THE DARK KNIGHT Rises (INTL.)
They need to sell this is the last of the Trilogy, which it is. It's far enough from TDK that i think it will hold onto most of its gross if not do better (due to what i'm sure would be a record breaking opening). This won't be a Pirates 3.
We probably won't see anything from Bats again for at least another 4 years i think after 2012 as they reboot and come back with another star. Batman is like James Bond, it occurs in cycles, though longer between drinks.

Re: THE DARK KNIGHT Rises (INTL.)
Warners obviously pulling out all the stops to capitalise on the release of Potter. Other releases such as Happy Feet 2, Contagion (finally) and Sherlock Holmes look to also join in on the party. Thankgod they left The Hobbit out of this. WB has a very tricky road in front of it juggling two of its biggest tentpoles for next year. Teaser next week with Potter?http://www.411mania.com/movies/news/193 ... -Week?.htmThe teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises appears to be debuting next week. SuperHeroHype reports that the trailer and poster will hit theaters next week in front of Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 2. The trailer is reportedly 1:33 long and will play in 3D and 2D theaters. The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine , Gary Oldman , Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy , Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt , Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Nestor Carbonell , Matthew Modine , Tom Conti, Joey King, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis and Josh Stewart and is set for release on July 20th, 2012.

Re: THE DARK KNIGHT Rises (INTL.)
We have our first Teaser Poster for TDKR! The Teaser Trailer is supposed to be 1 min and 33 seconds. They're timing this brilliantly. A reminder of TDK's first teaser: .jpg)

Re: THE DARK KNIGHT Rises (INTL.)
If the storyline Biggestgeekever predicted is based on "No Man's Land", I'm afraid this film may not see a release in Japan next year. Or if it manages to be released, it'll be heavily edited. Battle LA was delayed for 6 months, with only an edited version to be released in the fall. On the other hand, TF3 has plenty of destruction (no earthquake though) and is still being released unedited.
Japan will be one of The Dark Knight Rises weaker markets, but it's still unfortunate if something happens to it's release.
