Cars 2 - WTF went wrong pixar?
Seriously!
I just hopped over to rotten tomatoes to check out some reviews and saw that cars 2 is at 48% on the meters.
48%???????
are you kidding? I checked the url to make sure i wasnt on a spoof site. Even refreshed the page a few times to make sure i wasnt looking at the wrong reviews for another film.
So with pixar's track record, i believe this deserves a pre opening weekend what went wrong thread.
I mean did anyone expect them to have a rotten film?
The Big John L was even brought in to finish this....you know the guy who gave us the original TOy Story?
So what went wrong? How could Pixar blow their perfect record with a rotten tomatoe like this?
What the fuck happened? and more importantly how the fuck could something like this happen at PIXAR!

Rotten is sad to see for pixar but its really not the most shocking thing in the world. Even Pixar makes mistakes and this just didn't have critical darling written anywhere near it from the git-go. I am surprised to see sub 50%, but everyones prone to going for the cash cow. Keep in mind even if this does follow tracking to a KFP2 weak run, as in sub 200m, it's undoubtedly going to have enormous merchandise sales.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

This wont ever in a million years be a dissapointment, even if it has a shitty run, merchandise will still selll like crazy and make much more oney than the film's run.

This is the box office forum. It hasn't even released. Nothing went wrong.
Critical reception-wise, this is better than I could've hoped for. Lasseter's ego takes a whack and he'll allow more original films to be made once more. They also still get the cash so win-win-win for everyone really.

Wrong forum, and you can discuss Cars 2's RT score here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=63917
