 Re: Thursday Numbers
Expected for X-Men, great for Bridesmaids... I can't see how this one will miss 150 million now....

 Re: Thursday Numbers
Mid 50% drop might not be too much of a stretch anymore for First Class. It's Sunday-Thursday drop is a bit better than the Incredible Hulk, and with Super 8 looking to open into the low 20's, FC will have significantly less competition than TIH had.

But to be fair TIH had Father's Day on its Sunday, thus it was slightly inflated.

 Re: Thursday Numbers
Good hold for First Class, I was expecting it to be at 3.8 million, with that number I think a 7.5 Friday and a 25 million 2nd weekend sounds about right, could be a tough fight for first I think.

 Re: Thursday Numbers
KFP2 has definitely picked up on weekdays now, interestingly Rio is doing great as well. It is so surprising that KFP2 will end up quite close to Rio total (by $20m-$30m)

 Re: Thursday Numbers
NBA Finals haven't really had noticeable effects for the last two games (Tues and Thurs), although we still have to see how Friday increases turn out to be.

Nothing was affected much by Super 8 or NBA, it seems.

 Re: Thursday Numbers
We'll see . I do agree that KFP2 will hold great, but I also think others will too. Bridesmaids should drop under 20% .

By now I guess we have established that Bridesmaids is quite a different run

 Re: Thursday Numbers
Still, there's no new competition for The Hangover so it should see a decent hold, IMO anyway.

 Re: Thursday Numbers
It's an okay number for Super 8 in 324 theatres. Not great, but still okay. Let's wait for the weekend. It's pretty clear now that $35+ million definitely is not happening, but $25+ million is still quite possible.
And after all the doubts, The Hangover II's run is simply amazing. It'll be the 7th-biggest R-rated film ever after its third weekend!
Looks like Rio still has some juice in it (three increases in a row). Should pass $140 million aftewrall. Good legs, unfortunetaly a less-than-stellar opening.
I hope X-Men: First Class will be able to pass $100 million after ten days, but I'm not too sure of that. Though Super 8 turning out to be smaller than expected certainly will help.
Kung Fu Panda 2 is rebounding VERY well. Could we see another Ice Age 3? Which opened quite below expectations, but then turned out to be much leggier than expected and topped the second film afterall? Panda is down less than 8% from last week and has no 3D or big family competiion this weekend. We should see a sub-30% drop. Maybe $195+ million can happen afterall. I guess it depends on how huge Cars 2 will be.
