 Re: NBA 2010-2011 Season
You are correct. Same road record. In fact, they are very evenly matched except for the edge in terms of big league stars that Miami has on it's team.
I agree with you in that if they can win either game 1 or 2 then they'll be in prime position to win the series. If they can win it in less than 7 great but I'm guessing it goes the distance.

 Re: NBA 2010-2011 Season
My gut feeling is that Miami will win, simply because I don't want that to happen. It always works that way.
However, not totally convinced on Miami's greatness yet. They beat an aging Boston team with a very injured Rondo, and it wasn't as convincing as the 4-1 suggested (Boston should have won game 4). Then they beat a Bulls team that hadn't played too hot in the playoffs, and with Boozer sucking up the joint. And that was also a closer series than the 4-1 finish suggested.
I'm not saying Miami didn't deserve to win either (they did), but they felt a lot closer than the final suggested, and I don't think either opponent played up to near their potential. On the flip side, Miami seemed to play to their full potential, especially in late game situations.
Dallas had a similar path, but I think their opponents were tougher (Denver, LAL, and OKC > Philly, Boston w/o Rondo, and Chicago), and they won slightly more convincingly.
So, on paper I'm picking Dallas to win in 6. But knowing how the sports gods hate me, I'm sure Miami will win in 5. Then Lebron and Wade can celebrate winning this year's championship for the 3rd annoying time (pre-season, post-Boston, and then for realz).

 Re: NBA 2010-2011 Season
The Raptors sucking screwed the Mavs out of HCA. Last game of the season Mia got arrogant @ Toronto and rested Lebron, Wade and Bosh (so starting lineup House/Bibby/Jones/Anthony/Z) even though a win would give them HCA over the Mavs. They crushed us anyways.
If the Mavs had HCA I would've picked them. But I hate the 2-3-2. It basically means the Mavs have to win in 5 to close it out at home, or basically split in Mia and then win 3 in a row in Dallas. That's brutal. I still think Dallas can win in 6 on Miami's floor but I'd be much more confident in a Dallas in 6 prediction with the 2-2-1-1-1

The Cavs basically pay 25 million to move from 4 to 2 if they make this deal. Dan Gilbert is in spurned ex gf mode with an unlimited wallet.
I like Kanter more than Williams. I might like Kanter more than Irving. Definitely looks like a 3 man draft though.

I like it. Kanter has the highest "upside", but I'd rather have the only two sure things in the draft. They also have Antawn Jamison's expiring contract to play with.

Go Mavs! Have fun Miami! You're either gonna have Lebron in foul trouble every game, or Dirk is scoring 40 every game.

 Re: NBA 2010-2011 Season
I predict Mavs in 6 This 2011 NBA Finals matchup is like a comic bookhttp://www.azcentral.com/sports/article ... comic.htmlQuote: But we see it as a classic Good-vs.-Evil matchup of The Dirkinator vs. The Chosen One in a showdown that will rock the universe. Quote: The Dirkinator Dimensions: 7-feet, 245 pounds.
NBA Finals record: 0-1.
Powers: Crazy array of offensive moves. Has bullet-train speed to go around lumbering giants and super size to simply rise over the top of smaller, quicker foils.
Plus, he's Heat resistant.
Back story: Former prodigy yet to realize his full potential in part because of the meddling ways of bazillionaire Mark Cuban, who tore him away from his first sidekick, Captain Canada - aka Steve Nash. Vs.Quote: The Chosen One Dimensions: 6-8, 250 pounds.
NBA Finals record: 0-1.
Sidekick: Flash - aka Dwyane Wade, who once teamed with Mastermind (Pat Riley) and the Original Superman to defeat the Dirkinator and control the world.
Powers: Hulk-like strength combined with the speed and hops of Air-Walker and the ability to throw down like Hellboy.
Back story: After seven years drifting alone in a vacuum called "Cleveland," The Chosen One tired of fighting alone and began secretly plotting to join forces with some other superheroes.

 Re: NBA 2010-2011 Season
The Mavs missed quite a few open 3s that game. I also noticed Dirk trying to drive the ball from just inside the 3 point line too. I wasn't happy with that loss or how they played because I didn't think Miami was going to be holding them in the 80s, but I still have confidence they'll bounce back and win game 2. Then they must win 2 of 3 at home.

If the Mavs are downplaying Dirk's injury the Heat might win out.

Mavs bench didn't show up at all. That equals a Miami win!

Barea was torching Miami... but couldn't hit a shot. That will change. And Dirk will be WAY more aggressive.

 Re: NBA 2010-2011 Season
Dallas shouldn't worry TOO much about how badly Miami killed them on the offensive glass. That's what happens when you play zone. But it would be nice if they got those rebounds EVENTUALLY.
