Who thinks this can make a showing at the Globes/WGA?

It's possible, of course. The 40-Year-Old Virgin was nominated for Best Original Screenplay by the WGA.

It'll get Best Musical/Comedy and Best Actress in a Musical/Comedy nominations at the Globes. Probably.

I wonder if they'll nominate Johnny Depp for Best Actor (Musical or Comedy) for Pirates 4. :P

Obviously. :P

And I think Bridesmaids is obviously a lock for Best Picture (Musical/Comedy) and there's a huge chance Kristen Wiig will score a Best Actress (Musical/Comedy) nomination.

He's also in The Rum Diary, though, so it might be Best Actor (Drama) this year.

I was thinking he'd got nominated for both. They usually nominate him for everything he's in :P.

IF (though its looking more likely), this film does $150 m +, Wiig could have an outside chance at an Oscar nomination. Not joking either!

She won't be nominated. :P It's fun to consider it now, but she won't be nominated.

After the love they have shown in that category for The Tourist...does it really matter?

The Tourist's nominations didn't wash away the glory of giving an award to Colin Farrell for In Bruges.

It could approach $170 m now + potentially. It will be very difficult to ignore in the awards season. It's certainly a "game-changer" type movie for the industry.

This will definitely score nods for Best Pic and Kristen Wiig at the Globes. It could possibly sneak in a Screenplay nomination at the Oscars, depending on how the rest of the year goes.

As much fun as it'd be to see Wiig get an Oscar nod...it won't happen. Just like Amy Adams in Enchanted and Jamie Lee Curtis in Freaky Friday didn't and should have.

I doubt it, but it's not impossible. I could certainly see a Screenplay nomination though, but honestly, Wiig's performance would be more worthy than a Screenplay nomination. I'd be tickled to see it score a nom anywhere though.

Golden Globe nominations are assured. Wiig should get one, and of course the film will score a nomination, and maybe Melissa McCarthy. Emily Blunt received one for The Devil Wears Prada if I remember correctly.
