The server just crashed fo me too. I'm guessing the traffic on that site is insanely backed up.

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
^ Probably a good sign for business this weekend if Fandango keeps crashing, lol.
In other news, my friend and I tried to see The Hangover but there were so many sellouts that we just gave up. Definitely busier than last night. So I think we're going Sunday...? And I'll probs see Midnight in Paris sometime before Tuesday.

Is anybody else surprised there hasn't been an update about how the day is going yet? No silly rough number estimates from nikki at all?

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
Bridesmaid did really well due to Hangover 2 sellouts..
Many theaters did not have enough evening showings for hangover 2 in my area. They should had way way more...
Have no idea how hangover 2 did, the sellouts were likley amplified by the lack of screens at many of the big theaters...

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
Fandango is finally working for me again and by looking at the theatres here I see now why there was a crash. Hangover has a ton of sellouts on multiple screens at theatres all over Houston. Suprisingly there are ALOT more than what I saw last night, so I honestly wouldn't be suprised if it did another $30M+ for today. Also I only see one sellout for Panda.

I'm already seeing a couple sellouts for the later shows tonight. Hangover is going to be a monster once again.

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
That sucks.
It's not close to 60% of Hangover's Friday matinees and if it were backloaded, say 10m a la midnights, then it would be 60% of 20m which would be 12m.

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
I don't even know what you are talking about.
On friday Panda did 60% of Hangover's matinees, on saturday it's doing 120% of Hangover's matinees. At least that's how i understand it.

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
Either Hangover is doing much worse than the day before or panda much better than the day before. Or a bit of both.
My predictions for Saturday: $19m for Panda and $27m for Hangover.

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
If Hangover is doing equal business at matinees that it was yesterday, then that would mean Panda is doing double the business it was yesterday. Certainly sounds right considering it's a Saturday.

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
Browsing Fandango this afternoon, I see sell outs for Kung Fu Panda in 2D, but no sell outs for it in 3D! I also see a Pirates 2D sell out at the Century Walnut Creek, but no 3D sell outs for it!

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
Hangover 2 - 8:15pm AMC Gulpointe 30 100 seater FULL
Overall it was a fun experiance and the crowd reallly ate it up. I even laughed quite a bit , but the first is deffentially better. It was great seeing all the characters again, but that cameo towards the end was really forced and I'm still trying to figure out if it was suppose to be funny. The crowd didn't react much at all to it.

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
Saw Midnight in Paris at 2pm. It wasn't quite sold out, but very close. And the film sold out its last eleven showings at this theatre, beginning with the 3:30 showing. Trailers included The Devil's Double, Page One: Inside the New York Times, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, and The Tree of Life.
Then I saw The Double Hour at 4:45. Decent enough crowd for such a low-profile release in its second weekend of play here. Around 25 people. Trailers were the same, except replace Snow Flower with Another Earth.
