How would the snow affect the nuclear power plants?

Problem is not so much the power plants with the snow, but all the thousands of people that lost their homesand don't have protection against bad weather.

But I bet the effect is unnoticeable.

Aapparently, radiation is good for you according to Ann Coulter and the NYT as she cited decade old studies in her defense.
I wish shed take the first flight to japan and test that idea.

If ever there was a time I'd panic then that'd be the situation when that wave first crashed and next thing you know your car is floating. Scary.

Alarmingly, a 7+ earthquake (Haiti size or bigger) occurs somewhere in the world every 24 days on average! In fact the Japan area had a 7.2 just 2 days before the big one struck.
And an 8+ quake occurs about every 9 months on average.
I don't think nuclear power is worth all these risks now. In addition to the area around Fukushima being radiated for decades now and the Japanese govt playing games with the people trying to fix a problem that can't be fixed. There's nothing to trust about what they are saying or doing over there even though the workers for all their bravery are fighting a losing game while toxic gases get released into the air every couple days. I don't know what the long term solution is going to be for Japan but hopefully nuclear power isn't part of it anymore.

Another growing concern is the impact on Japan's sizable fishing fleet. The nation's Kyodo News agency reported that levels of radioactive iodine were rising Thursday off the eastern coast, leaving fishermen worried about future income
Radiation levels in the food would not cause health problems right away, Edano said, but if they rise, they may reach levels risky to human health.
"Erring on the side of caution for the extreme degree for children makes good sense," Cox said. For adults, "as far as the immediate health risk, something that would make people sick, I don't think that would come close to it."
The Chiba Nogiko water treatment plant had a measure of 220 becquerels of radioactive iodine per kilogram of water, while the Kuriyama facility had a reading of 180 becquerels, according to a statement from Chiba's waterworks bureau.

Japan? Sorry, but Liz Taylor just died!

I was admiring all the beautiful pictures Liz Taylor had. There was one on drudge yesterday and then I read something on cnn talking about her performance in National Velvet. I haven't seen that but I'm gonna get to it some time. I did love her in Virginia Woolf even though that movie is very vulgar.

Here a close look video of a reactor building. I know shit about reactors but that doesnt build up confidence that here something can be repaired.

Re: 8.9 Earthquake Huge Tsunami In Japan!
Another 7.4 just hit off the coast of Japan and tsunami warnings have been issued. Let's hope it isn't as bad as last time.
It's sad that this happened again, but not totally unexpected. I know many experts said that due to the sheer magnitude of the first quake, a follow up quake or quakes of diminishing magnitude should be expected.
Hope this one doesn't turn out as bad. This one is much more in the range they should have been prepared for.
