 Oscar Show Rating - 1 to 10
How would you rank this Oscar show on a 1 to 10 scale, with 1 being the least great and 10 being the best?
I would personally give it a 2. It was quite bad this year.

Winners - 6 Ceremony Itself - 3.5
9.5/2 = 4.75, round to 5, lowered a point for general annoyance to 4

Re: Oscar Show Rating - 1 to 10
Moral of the story: the Oscar producers have no clue what 'young' and 'hip' mean. The attempts to capture those qualities last night were at best half-hearted and at worst just plain weird.

5.
The show was full of boring nostalgia and felt uncomfortably long.
I think the general audience would want a show host who sides with them and laughs at the misdeeds of the industry. That'd be entertaining to watch.

2 out of 10.
Franco was outright pitiful, and while Hathaway' was charming, her timing seemed off.
Bring back Ellen!

15 minutes of this was all I could bare.. Trying to change this up to be more appealing to the "hip crowd" was in fact a BUST.. Bring back Letterman, hell, even Ricky Gervais would've been ALOT better than this.. I bet both Hathaway and Franco are glad that's over..

Re: Oscar Show Rating - 1 to 10
The more I think about it, the more I admire Anne Hathaway for trying so hard with what she had. But come on, she was playing off James Franco, who was either doing a shtick, was high, or didn't care. Or all three. What little she had was dashed by him. Too bad really.
On her own, Anne would've been no better or worse than, say, Hugh Jackman.
As for the winners, it's telling that the most awards went to two films: one in all major categories and one in all technical categories. It was a bit of a polarizing year for films. Nothing stood out like Slumdog (8? wins) or Locker (6 wins) in the last two years.

Re: Oscar Show Rating - 1 to 10
I love Anne, so I was fine with that. The show felt very choppy and poorly put together but I don't care much about that stuff. The winners were pretty bad, all the ones that had some uncertainty went the wrong way (Bale, Leo, Hooper.) And it pissed me off when they taunted us by not going KS sweep like at all then coming back with all the big awards, just annoying.

Horrendously boring, made me realize that I really don't give a shit about these award shows anymore. I doubt I will watch this ever again.

Re: Oscar Show Rating - 1 to 10
They were pretty bad and I was excited to see Hathaway and Franco host. Like most of you have said, Hathaway did a good job with what she had. You could tell she was really trying, I felt so bad for her. Franco on the other hang was awful (besides the bit where he was in those tights ). The winners were pretty bad though, I would have preferred The Social Network winning Best Picture and I didn't even love that.
