Re: Chronicles of Narnia: Dawn Treader (INTL) - $258.9 milli
I really don't mind a sequel...personally I don't love the movies but they are a sure once watch (Actually I liked Narnia 3 better than a lot of blockbusters this year including Iron Man 2). If they do announce a sequel it would be great but surely they cannot expect that one to increase domestically as well as in OS markets. The time gap should also be a little lesser this time.

Re: Chronicles of Narnia: Dawn Treader (INTL) - $258.9 milli
I think as I said earlier, if overseas they can almost be sure 200 overseas, a sequel will happen. I really don't think a 4th one would decrase much more in the states, and could in fact go higher if it is pegged as the final Narnia. Like a 35 million opening, 110 domestic. They just can't let the budget escalate like Disney did when they though Caspian would do 600 WW easily.

Re: Chronicles of Narnia: Dawn Treader (INTL) - $258.9 milli
Quote: Fox’s The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader pushed its overseas cume to $267.6 million thanks to a $4.5 million weekend at 4,210 venues in 47 markets. Yeah, so $300 million OS is a near lock, IMO.

Re: Chronicles of Narnia: Dawn Treader (INTL) - $267.6 milli
Without Japan it should be around 280m and there is no way it misses 20m mark in Japan, so yeah 300m OS is definitely happening. It looks more and more that a sequel is in store for this one.

Now all rests on Japan's shoulders.

Re: Chronicles of Narnia: Dawn Treader (INTL) - $270.4 milli
Wow surprising the number just dropped off heavily, too sudden as well. Anyways Japan should carry it to 300m+ as even without that it might crawl to 275m-277m so another 20m or so should be ok for it.

Re: Chronicles of Narnia: Dawn Treader (INTL) - $272.6 milli
The overseas total rose a little again - to $272.6 million now. That's less than $6 million away from Caspain's overseas gross and it still has Japan ahead.

Re: Chronicles of Narnia: Dawn Treader (INTL) - $275 million
Unless it really really underwhelms in Japan it will easily make 300m OS.
Corpse predicts a heavy decline from Caspian and still expects this one to make the much needed 25m. The movie has definitely fared better than Caspian in most of the markets, not by a very good margin but still better.

The producer, has already found funding for the 4th film, but unfortunately he was found dead the other day. Wonder if they will still go on with it.

That is the 6th book apparently right? And the only book to not feature any of the main characters?

Re: Chronicles of Narnia: Dawn Treader (INTL) - $275 million
Yes it's the 6th book written, but it's the first one chronologically. A prequel.
There's Aslan! And the Lamp! And the White Witch before she was White Witch! And it explains the magical cupboard! But yeah, there are no Pevensie kids or their cousin Eustace. But if cast well Digory and Polly should be instantly likable kids. They're not idiotic and off putting as Eustace.

Well it is now officially confirmed that the next is being made and it is going to be "The Magician's Nephew", the sixth book of the series and the prequel to the original "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" http://www.christianpost.com/news/narni ... air-49517/

Re: Chronicles of Narnia: Dawn Treader (INTL) - $275 million
Domestic: $104,386,950 25.1% + Foreign: $311,279,460 74.9% = Worldwide: $415,666,410
Riding solely on Japan this is now trying to match Caspian's WW total. $4m to do so.

Re: Chronicles of Narnia: Dawn Treader (INTL) - $310.3 milli
Final overseas gross:
$310,300,000
Wow, my $310-320 million guess was quite spot on. Worldwide gross: $414.3 million. That#s exactly $5 million less than Prince Caspian which is a solid outcome.
They should bring on a fourth movie. If they keep the costs the same again, it should make another nice profit.
