 Best Actor 2010
We've got three locks at this point:
James Franco (127 Hours) Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) Colin Firth (The King's Speech).
Jeff Bridges has a great shot too for True Grit....but the fifth spot...no clue. Probably something we really don't expect right now. Maybe Kevin Spacey?!

 Re: Best Actor 2010
Dorff Duvall Eisenberg Firth Franco ALTERNATES: Bardem, Gosling, Wahlberg
The 5th spot is so unclear at this point, but right now I'll give it to good-underdog-story/Hollywood-friendly-role Dorff.

I don't see Jesse Eisenberg being a lock yet, just Franco and Firth.

 Re: Best Actor 2010
Hmm, I think many reviews ae praising him and with all the love for the film, he's gotta make it?
I mean how many BP nominated biopics ae there without the main character whom the biopic is about being nominated as well?

Hmm, Franco and Firth will have a Rourke/Penn 2008-like close race this year, I think.

 Re: Best Actor 2010
I'm starting to doubt Eisenberg and lean:
Bardem Duvall Firth Franco Wahlberg Runner-up: Bridges

Eh, I doubt Wahlberg and I am not yet completely sold on Duvall yet.

Franco certainly looks like a strong second but I think Firth has a huge advantage here. 127 hours would have to basically sweep awards season for Franco to take the lead, and with Social Network and KS as strong contenders I don't see that happening.

He deserved to win last year, IMO.

 Re: Best Actor 2010
It's Bardem (BAFTA nom) vs. Duvall (SAG nom, BFCA nom) vs. Gosling (Globes nom, BFCA nom) for the final spot.

 Re: Best Actor 2010
A nom for Wahlberg would be quite a shocking surprise, IMO. Similar to Eastwood getting a nod for Million Dollar Baby.

 Re: Best Actor 2010
I could see Wahlberg getting a nomination. The Fighter has a lot of support and he was instrumental in getting it made in the first place.

 Re: Best Actor 2010
If there's any justice Wahlberg shall get nowhere near this award.
As long as Jeff bridges gets in I will be content I suppose.

 Re: Best Actor 2010
Given The King's Speech resounding support this morning, I'd say Colin Firth is more of a lock than Natalie Portman is! Though both are very close to locks.

He is. Portman still has Bening to deal with.
