 People are overestimating "Kong" Okay true its from Oscar winning director Peter Jackson, but King Kong is far from a best picture winner probably. I think its going to be a good popcorn flick, not a oscar nominated movie.

Isn't it ironic that Hollywood mocks Gibson for drunk driving yet praises Polanski who molested a child? Or praises Edward Kenedy who killed someone while drunk driving?

I don't think too many are actually predicting it to score big at the Oscars...

I don't think it really has a chance at any major awards, except for maybe Naomi Watts for Best Actress, if she ends up doing something really great in this film. Other than that, the only awards it will be nominated for are technical achievements. I don't see another Jackson film getting nominated, for the 4th year, in a 5 year span. No matter how great the film is, I doubt it will be nominated.

I don't think many people are predicting it and therefore dont see how its being overestimated.
