Two Wednesday openers, one Saturday opener, one Saturday expander (King's Speech), and one Wednesday expander (Black Swan). Going to be a very interesting weekend. One good thing is that at least the deadline is the usual Thursday instead of Wednesday.

Strong week for a lot of KJers, I noticed. Very tough weekend coming up.

Xiayun: I think someone on BOM said this, but that's true dedication. I probably would have paid $0.65/minute to fill out the Derby as well...

It would pain me much more to miss out a week than finishing 2nd two consecutive weeks. They actually provided a discount package of $19.95 for 45 minutes on Friday, so I called to see if it would start on midnight and purchase that instead since it's plenty early enough for the derby, but they said it would start on 9am sharp.

Shoot.. that would be my only hope of winning the year.

You could root for a bolt of lightning to strike xiayun's house minutes before the deadline, but he probably has a dedicated Derby generator.

Well, now I know what I want for Christmas.

BTW will this be the last derby for 2010 or will next weekend also count towards 2010.

Now I wonder if we'll have a game for this weekend if some studios won't report the full actuals for the holidays until next Monday.

It happened two years ago if I remember, how there was no game the weekend after Christmas. I wouldn't be surprized if they had no game this weekend.

Well the game is still on for this week, but the deadline is set to be Friday at noon, and no range for the date is specified, although I assume it's the normal Friday to Sunday.

Surprised to see there will be a game, and the strange deadline. Will be interesting to predict films with incomplete actuals.

Unless things pick up tomorrow, we could be looking at a record low number of entries this week. Only 65 as of this post.

Friday at noon - is that a new first? Wonder if it's the new standard deadline or just for this week since it's an odd week. I kind of hope it will stick.

I bet the number of entries picks up a lot as we get closer to the normal deadline and those going for perfect attendance submit their entry, but may still be a low for the year.
