 Which peripheral contender has the best shot-- --of sneaking into the Best Picture ten, in your opinion? However slim the chance.

Re: Which peripheral contender has the best shot-- I'll go with Shutter Island. There's a lot more passion for it in AMPA like peoples than critics. And it's one of those films where the people involved have a lot of friends.

Re: Which peripheral contender has the best shot-- With a score of 79 at BFCA and 6.2 average at RT, I don't see The Way Back making much wave. Blue Valentine looks to be the strongest possibility from reviews point of view, but it may be entering the race too late. Maybe it could be a different film altogether like The Ghost Writer, Animal Kingdom, or Waiting for Superman.
